That the difference between the average household that makes $25,000/yr and the average household that makes $75,000/year is only a 58% increase in income per earner?

The difference between $50,000/year and $100,000/year is only a 40% increase in income per earner?

Weird.

Okay...why does basic maths seem to mean that that can't be true?

It's because the higher income brackets have more people working than the lower income brackets, per household.

No, it's because of a graduated tax system.

The difference in earnings between someone who makes $300k and $500k.
