Typical counterargument to markets: "What if businesses were racist?"

Typical counterargument: "Well, if people weren't down with racism, they would probably pressure the company in question into changing their behavior or risking pretty significant losses and social backlash."

Typical rejoinder: "Bullsh*t. Those companies don't give two fucks, and it's really hard to get a bunch of people to agree to do that."

My response: http://chicagophoenix.com...

Suck it.

For the record they didn't discriminate in any way at all before this did they? They just stopped donating money to organizations that opposed gay rights?
Because the article makes it sound like they are just now going to mandate all employees and patrons be treated equally.
Also I didn't know focus on the family was a "hate group"
But the main point is taken, market forces caused a business to bow to the will of the people.
