I think both are useful, but I perfer the Neo-classic perspective. I think the evidence suggests that limited government intervention into the market tends to relate to a more efficient economy. Compare a Switzerland to a France for example. (Pro-market vs centralized market economy) I think there needs to be a balance between getting the government out of the way and maintaining individual protections. -this is essentially what Neo-classics are for- At the same time it is complicated and no prespective has it all figure out. Various perspectives may have their own important points to bring to the table.
