I've not done much in the forums, but I thought this would be an interesting idea. This thread is dedicated to compiling the best evidence you can find regarding the minimum wage. If you wouldn't mind, tag your evidence with it's basic implication.

For example, the following pieces of evidence should be tagged as shown:
Raising the Minimum Wage (Con)
http://www.nber.org...

If you feel the need or desire, include more information regarding the specifics of the evidence. For the above evidence, I could also add:
Raising the Minimum Wage/Living Wage (Con)
http://www.nber.org... - THE ECONOMIC EFFECTS OF LIVING WAGE LAWS: A PROVISIONAL REVIEW (Disemployment effects, past ordinances)

Hopefully this will be a help, I'll post some more evidence later. :)

The economic factors are actually rather insignificant. The correlation between the two is zilch. All other economic factors so grossly over power it that minor increases have no real impact on the economy or employment rates. Heck, in 1949, we doubled the minimum wage and unemployment went down (it was at 7.9% the month the raise was signed into law, 4.2% 12 months later, 3.5% 24 months later and 3.0% 36 months later).

Bleh, I hate that the BLS doesn't copy and paste well. Google search "unemployment by year" and the BLS should be result #2. It tracks monthly unemployment rates going back to 1948.

Since this severely old data was published, there have been numerous studies and examples played out that demonstrated explicit relationships between economy and wage raise detriments. Even economic theory backs this. Thanks for the data, though. That's what the purpose of the thread. :)

The 1949 was a single example. The data was from 1948 to 2015 which shows no correlation.
