According to famed economist Paul Krugman;

"If we discovered that space aliens were planning to attack, and we needed a massive build-up to counter the space alien threat, and inflation and budget deficits took secondary place to that, this slump would be over in 18 months," http://business.time.com...

What's everyone's thoughts?

Should we do this?

Are Keynesian economists crazy and try to cover it up with textbook language?

Are the ruling elite evil and planning to fake an alien invasion as warned of by George Bush.

Lol, this is *really* old. He's been "advocating" for this for years.

What's everyone's thoughts?

I think this is typical Krugman, and as usual, he's right on the diagnosis, but wrong on the solution.

Should we do this?

Absolutely not. Fiscal policy is offset by monetary policy.

No, not even remotely, though the textbook models are ironically correct.

Are the ruling elite evil and planning to fake an alien invasion as warned of by George Bush.

No, they're not.

Wasteful government spending at it's finest.

Should we do this?

America already is, there is no deference between unneeded infrastructure programs and a fake alien invasion.

Not crazy, willful political enablers for expanding state power. Free people and free markets are the really enemy of Keynesians.

Too bad they are not. The elite are currently scaring people with global warming and ISIS.
A free market anti-capitalist

If it can be de-centralized, it will be de-centralized.

Let's not forget the report from Iron Mountain that was leaked to the public. https://en.m.wikipedia.org...

If the government is paying your checks, you should consider quitting and maybe doing work that isn't evil.
