According to this article the rounds of QE is forcing the Chinese to raise the value of the yuan in order to prevent inflation and "domestic unrest" thus helping us beat China in the currency war.
Basically the article said by devaluing our dollar even more through Quantitative easing it floods the Chinese market with already undervalued yuan and will cause massive inflation in China, that is unless the government raises the value of the yuan.
I'm still not sure what I think about it all, anyone have any insight?

It is kinda a stab in the back when considering that China holds so much US debt, but it's about time that somebody forced the Chinese to start complying with international law, with or without their consent, for the yuan is artificially depreciated. With the Fed's actions being coupled with Obama's Western Pacific isolation strategies, China is being put in an increasingly tough position geopolitically and domestically. Once exports slow down, or inflation skyrockets, unrest might be spurred among the Chinese public.

"Ben Bernanke Outsmarts Chinese?"

I really thought that said "Ben Bernanke Outsmarts Cheese?"
I think that would have made for a better article... just saying.

From the article:
"[China] has just two ways to limit prices: impose price controls..."

Lol.

Lol.

Aww man. I just read a Times magazine with 30 pages dedicated to education reform, and not once did they mention vouchers. The MSM is totally one sided and/or ignorant.

Don't need to be a fortune teller to have seen the housing crash coming, just need to understand economics. http://www.lewrockwell.com...

I'm curious to see whether or not China is a bubble, as mentioned in the article. China seems to think so, considering that their slamming the brakes on credit and whatnot.

Although I agree that Bernanke is incredibly intelligent, it didn't take anything close to a fortune teller to spot the housing bubble.

I think they're going to be in a lot of trouble when the demographic crisis hits them in the 20s, although I'm not sure that's the same thing as a bubble.

It's not. But, I think the entire economy is mimicking what happened to Japan, in that it's rapidly industrializing with an emerging middle-class thrusting demand and investment forward, combined with a possible property/asset bubble. I don't know if 10+ percent growth and climbing inflation is sustainable, so there might be a crash, which could mark the end of this incredible expansion -- also what happened to Japan in 89'.

However, like Japan, the Chinese public has a high savings rate, so a crash wouldn't necessarily tear down the entire consumer class, as with the rapid and hard-hitting slam the US took.

If Peter Schiff had sole authority at the Fed, he would tighten credit up and plunge the US into a depression.

Instead we should continue propping up malinvestments and misallocate resources to make GDP look good.

That's superior to the alternative. Plus, what does that have to do with the Fed Funds and Discount rate?
