I have this debate and im on the negative on it the debate is. A school voucher system should be implemented to allow parent/guardians to not be taxed for public school when they are sending their children to private school. If any advice on what topics I should be expanding on that would be great thanks.

Is your opponent arguing for a 100% tax credit from their portion of the public school?

They are arguing that there should be no tax for people who dont use the public school system, only who use it.

They are arguing that there should be no tax for people who dont use the public school system, only who use it.

So you're arguing in favor of allowing tax breaks, while your opponent is arguing against it.

So tax those who go to a public school.

Do NOT tax those who chose a private school.

Hell no. Public schools need all the funding they can get. The other parents have the option to send them to public. If they do not they pay the price.

It is not punishing them for doing so.

throwing more money into a dying system doesn't resolve anything. Efficiency is achieved by having markets compete with one another.

Coerced commerce is necessarily inefficient because it makes income independent from service. Public education in many parts of the United States is awful, and forcing parents to pay for education twice for choosing a better system is counterproductive. Instate a voucher system and quality education will no longer be a thing only the rich can afford.

I dont think I have ever heard why we need the vouchers in place put better.

@jester101: you said you were negitive though so you will want to not draw attention to this kind of case cause it would defeat you. instead try putting a focus on how the common education of the common person was significantly enhanced since the formation public education, the impact it has had on the history of this country.

that way instead of arguing over what the fair deal is for the person paying their taxes, or the efficiency of its use will ever be in the tax funded system, argue about it as if its like any other infrastructure of the city the people pay for in taxs like the plumbing, the police, the rescue squad, ect. education needs to be part of that infrastructure, so its a duty to support your town by paying the tax like everyone else, much like it's in the towns interest to make sure the fire-trucks work. you don't win SIM City without setting the funding for the schools on the highest setting it lets you.
