I recently found out that one of our elected school board officials is a private, religious school administrator within the same county where she makes a salary working her aforementioned public school position. Does anyone see how this could be a conflict of interest, especially in a state (Florida) where public and private schools are in competition for taxpayer funding? I think that you have to pick a side on this issue. You are either 100% for public schooling and think it is the best avenue for citizens to get an education or you are pro-private and feel that this is the best for students. I think it is highly hypocritical to take money from both when they are the antithesis of each.
