I am reading Andrew Marr's History of Modern Britain and re-reading Plato's Republic (10 years after I first read it!)

I am reading Andrew Marr's History of Modern Britain and re-reading Plato's Republic (10 years after I first read it!)

I am a great admirer of Andrew Marr, as I am of his fellow BBC political broadcaster, Jeremy Paxman. However, I read Paxman's "The English" and was very disappointed.

Is Marr's book any good?
