Does environmental factor affect an individual's intelligence? Thoughts?

Yes and No. By the way, I apologize for the lack of responses you have encountered so far. Moving on, here is my answer;

Yes) The environment in which you live in can be peaceful, chaotic, or in between these two. Below I'll explain how each environment can affect your intelligence or thoughts.

Someone who lives in a peaceful environment would be as follows:

> Work 9 to 5 with a good salary (full time) .
> Is more than able to pay off bills.
> Has plenty of personal time.

Or

> Works part time or not at all
> Has supportive parents/guardians
> Is more than able to do school work with full support
> Is not obligated to pay rent for living under their parents' roof.
> Is fed well with proper nutrition fulfilled at their body's need.

Now, of course these are only a couple of examples, but they are sufficient enough. Without peace and love life can't thrive. This also means a flourishing mind.

A chaotic environment would be as follows:

> Works 9 to 5 (full time) barely being able to make the bills.
> Doesn't have much personal time with a lack of love
> On the brink of being homeless
> Doesn't have peace of mind
> Doesn't eat enough to fulfill their body's needs.

Or

> Works part time or not at all
> Has lack of support from parents/guardians.
> Obligated to pay some kind of rent
> Is not supported well in education, if not discouraged from it.
> Not fed well with proper nutrition
> Has to worry about being evicted

Of course personal choices can be a factor in this as well, but I'll get to that later in this post as I'll explain personal choices are a contributing factor to people's situations, but not always fully responsible for the situation.

A decent environment would be as follows:

> Works 9 to 5 (full time) being able to scrape by on bills and every day needs
> Lives in a stressful, but loving environment
> Doesn't have to worry about being homeless
> Has other worries that are quite troublesome
> Is able to think rationally, but with a lot of effort

Or

> Works part time or not at all
> Has supportive parents/guardians, but not as supportive as needed
> Not obligated to pay rent, but is obligated to unnecessary criticism
> Supported in education, but not to the fullest
> Doesn't have extra snacks or food to eat, but gets three meals a day
> Has peace of mind with some distress as well

No) Here are the reasons intelligence is not affected by one's environment.

I will use my examples from above to explain:

Chaotic Situation

> Works 9 to 5 (full time) barely being able to make the bills.
> Doesn't have much personal time with a lack of love
> On the brink of being homeless
> Doesn't have peace of mind
> Doesn't eat enough to fulfill their body's needs.

^ Someone who is in a situation like this could be for a number of reasons. This includes, making wrong choices when they were younger preventing themselves from furthering their education.

^ Possibility 2, They don't know how to budget their money

^ Possibility 3, They have psychological problems not fixed.

^ Possibility 4, Struggling dealing with close family ties which are now deceased.

^ Possibility 5, They don't care about being productive part of society, they just care about other things like drugs, sex, and partying.

On this same note, we could break down all the other situations as well, but I don't think it is necessary. Unless it is proven necessary by someone not thinking outside the box.

I would also like to note that you could have a combination of any of those three situations for yes. [Peaceful, Chaotic, or in between (decent) ]

Furthermore, there are extreme cases I didn't mention, but didn't feel like I had to as most people would understand living in extremely abnormal cases can be both a result of personal choices and environmental elements which are a result of other peoples' choices.

Anyways, let me give some good examples of people who excelled even in harsh situations:

> Bill Gates
> Oprah Winfrey
> Stephen King
> Benjamin Franklin
> Jim Carry (I think that is how you spell his last name)
> Albert Einstein
> Benjamin Carson
> And many others

If you don't know about these people, go read about them and their story of success. It should inspire you to get out of a *&it hole if you are in one.
