Anyone else looking forward to the next school year :D?

I restart somewhere around the start of September but my school hasn't sent me the official details yet, or my booklist.

I'll be taking the following classes next year:

English - Higher (A bit like AP, except there are only 2 options)
Irish - Higher or Ordinary (Still on the fence, my dad wants me to do Higher, I don't)
Maths - Higher
Economics - Higher (Yes, this course Macro AND micro economics *GASP*)
French - Higher
History - Higher (Modules are Empires after WW2, Europe 1920 - 1945, NI 1945 - 1990, and Ireland 1914 - 1945)
Geography - Higher
Pizza. I have enormous respect for Pizza.

Oh, right, I forgot about edumucation.

I'm pretty excited as well, though only because I get to start my career course for journalism is Sheridan. I finished off my GED and ended up in the top 2% of high school graduates in Ontario, despite dropping out in Grade 10. Pretty ironic, eh?

My problem is, of course, that where I'm going is a technical college, which doesn't have other classes I could attend for, say, polisci or history, like universities would. So I need to find a way around that problem.

Maybe, but its so much easier to just go to Sheridan, get through the career program, then worry about that stuff later. I get enough on-the-job polisci anyways.

Yeah, PE is a school class. It's just an easy 4.0 A class grade-wise.

Suppose, but a degree always looks super-credible, and makes it easier to climb the ranks.

Confluence of reasons. Bored, hated it, love life, idiotic friends, etc. I didn't miss much, though, from what I've heard from an old classmate. High school generally sucked.

Very true. Another problem I have though is whether my GED, which is an equivalent degree to your high school degree, would be accepted by any universities (Sheridan is a college, we make the distinction here for some reason). I may just have to ride it out, and settle in with my collegial degree, which would get me a job or two.

Worked, got fired, farted around, then worked again, quit, then farted around again, then attempted to go back to school, which failed, then got a new job, then did GED, and now I'm here.

Good five years, in all honesty. xD

Yeah, you'll need to write some good articles and whatnot to get recognition.

I'm not in the 99th percentile of language students in Ontario for nothing.:D

I'm pretty excited for next year as it will be my senior year. I'm concluding my time in the IB program and taking:

IB HL History II - European history from WWI - Post-Cold War
IB HL English II - Drama and Prose
IB HL Spanish 7 - This is as far as Spanish goes in MCPS in Maryland, and it encompasses a lot of the AP Spanish Lang/Lit curriculum
IB SL Math - I took AP Stat last year, and don't really care about math, so this is like a comprehensive review of math from Alg. 1 - Calc AB
T.V. Production
Honors Jazz Ensemble
IB Theory of Knowledge II - Basic Epistemology

I'll probably wind up taking the AP Lit, Spanish Lang, Spanish Lit, European History, and Comparative Politics tests, however.

98th percentile for a GED is different than 98th percentile for all high school students.

Only drop-outs take the GED...

English IV - Honors
- I finished with a B+ in English III honors so I didn't meet the pre-req of an A for AP.

Statistics - Accelerated
- It was between this and Honors Calculus. I'm taking the easy way out.

Government and World Issues - Honors
- I got an A- in US History Honors, but I needed an A for AP Gov.

Religious Studies IV - College Prep (only one level)
- Christian Life and Vocation (first semester)
- Theology of Suffering and Death (second semester)

---Electives---

Accounting - College Prep (one level - full year)

Law Studies - College Prep (one level - first semester)

World Religions - College Prep (one level - second semester)

Do regular high school students take the GED? Hmmmm?

Which means that regular high school students do not take the GED. Thus, regular high school students would not be included in the percentile for the GED.

Actually, you are right - I was confusing what goes where.

I shall rephrase then: not in the top 2% of Ontario high school grads for nothing. :D
