This college has done away with SAT scores [https://www.washingtonpost.com...]. They say it has produced more quality applicants, because with a new, essay-intensive application process, few but better people apply.

What are your thoughts on this move? I can see downsides and upsides to their decision.

I think this is a good idea, for small liberal arts colleges. SAT tests represent the critical thinking skills high school graduates need to perform in the workforce, and those are important factors in the determining of college readiness.

Well, I hate the idea of a SAT. The fact that the outcome of your entire life is depended on this one test you take is stressful and unrealistic, I don't know about the alt of an essay-intensive process though, I guess its better than SAT. Its an interesting concept and the school that did so should be studied to see the effects of the change, it could be an intesting experiment. What do you think?

Do you think colleges should value GPA over SAT scores?

Would you debate me on it? :D
"Resolved: In college admissions, SAT scores should be weighed more than GPAs". I'll take full BoP.
