http://www.youtube.com...

So a few weeks ago IGN (one of the websites I've been frequenting for the longest... I'd say I've been reading IGN since N64 days! I trust their reviews almost without question!) wrote this article: http://au.games.ign.com...
"What we want from RE6"

Well, Capcom have just released a trailer and it seems to me like IGN (and me, since I agreed with the article whole-heartedly) will get most of their wishes answered...
-Chris and Leon will appear in the same game, perhaps even crossing paths for the first time in the games history. Clearly they know each other (since Leon knows Chris's sister Claire) but they haven't met in a game.
-There seems (pleasepleaseplease) to be less focus on Co-op. Admittedly, I've only watched the trailer once at this point (I'm at work) but they both appear to be fighting alone during the fight scenes. I didn't mind the "look after the little girl" aspect of RE4, but having back-up 24/7 ala RE5 just didn't FEEL right, despite it being a great game.
-Seems like all our favourite enemies are going to return. If there are zombies (and there are! Lots and lots of zombies!!!) lickers, froggys, tyrants and other nasties can't be far behind.

All that's left is for the ammo and health to be restricted back to "scarce" (which is a hard thing to tell) and I'll be laughing. It confirmed that there are 3-4 distinct story lines (Chris, Leon, Ada and unnamed bald guy from the trailer). I'm thinking Capcom might have Leon's story line be more like the original, with ammo/health conservation being of the upmost importance (AND ZOMBIES!!!), while Chris is a guns-blazing soldier as he was in RE5.

Who knows?

All I know is I'm so fvcking excited about this game it's not funny. I've been behind the series since RE1 on PSX and it remains one of my favourite games of all time (although the remake on Gamecube was superior in every way)

BRING ON 20/11/12!!!!

I stopped visiting IGN after I saw this SHAMEFUL review.

You can literally hear, smell, see, taste, and touch the fanboyness!

No, its a good game, I'm not saying anything against it itself. But, 10? Really? REALLY? Just watch the video, the fanboyism is so obvious.

LOL! Greg Miller is quite a fan I see.
I understand what your saying. Some games they gave a high grade to, I was like "eh" when I brought them.
I personally considered Uncharted 2 to be better myself.
I guess the different perspectives of individuals (the critic included) may add to the viewing of certain games.

I have high hopes for Resident Evil 6 though.

I stopped playing after RE4. It was a fantastic game and the reviews for RE5 were so mixed that I hesitated to spoil things. The new trailer looks fantastic, though. They seem to be amping up the action aspect to match the horror.

Pacing was one thing that kept me on the fence with the series. It wasn't Silent-Hill-slow but it wasn't action-series-fast. The limbo made things feel a little stiff for me. The trailer gave me a lot of hope in this respect and I plan to pick up RE5 so I'm up to speed.

RE5 is fast paced, but extremely tense at times.
I enjoyed it; it makes sense and you finally get to fight Wesker as Chris...

Dude i still play RE4 on my old gamecube, thats how good it was.

I unlocked all the guns in re4 on GameCube. I played a bit of the mercenaries side games but I didn't get far! It was pretty hard.

Damn-near obsessive RE 4 player here, to the point where I was routinely doing one-gun runthroughs.

5 was ok but it seemed to want to add so much when there was so little, also the new inventory system was awkward and at times debilitating.

What really sucked for me, though, was the copy/pasted melees they took from 5 and put into Resident Evil: Afterlife, and then they bring in a certain blonde and WHY IS NOBODY IN THE CINEMA ALREADY AWARE OF WHO SHE IS? DOES ANYONE PLAY THESE GAMES? WHY THE F*CK ARE YOU HERE?

Anyway, I'm going to be skeptical about 6. Primarily because they don't seem to be putting too much thought into it. For starters, the logo looks like a woman giving a giraffe a blowjob.
