Great show, but I think if they want to secure its legacy, they're going to have to do one more season and then call it quits. I really feel if they go beyond three seasons it's just going to start getting stupid and then ruin a potentially great legacy.

The comic is so far ahead of where the show is it's not funny. There are 94 issues; the TV show is still lingering before they leave the farm and go to the prison... which might not even happen. Things are different.

She was looking at a map, not watching the road (the false sense of security of a world with no traffic perhaps?) and a zombie stumbled out in front of her. She swerved to avoid it and crashed the car...
It wasn't exactly unrealistic, was it?

My favourite part of the show is that they've increased the speed of the zombies this second season. They don't run but they stumble pretty damn fast.

To expand on my previous post; they're going in the right direction with the show and they have 94 issues of excellent (and the comic is truly excellent) source material to draw from.

Was skeptical about it at first but it's a great show.

To put this into perspective, if the show deals with the same amount of content from the comic with the same amount of time in the show, the show will go for at least 20 seasons to catch up to where it is in the comic.

I have never heard of the comic. I think the first season was epic. The second season is just a load of drama rather than actual zombie survival. Some drama is good. But now its to the point where it almost needs to be put on lifetime. People are just making snappy comments towards each other and walking away abruptly while the other person looks guilty. Its getting ridiculous. At least this last episode had some action in it.

The first season was much more impacting because it was more realistic as far as people dying, surviving on rooftops, etc. Now its just a drama war between the survivors and viewers are excited to see a zombie any chance they get because it is rare.

I think i read up to the point where the townspeople get pissed and decide to attack the prison, as i am unable to remember what happened after that. Its been a long time since i read the comics though.

This show is amazing. I am in love with it.

There is drama, yes, but there is also zombie action. This is, after all, a story that needs to be told, and they need tensions in order to draw the crowds in and tell a truly epic tale.

I mean, it's been like months in this zombie world they are living in. I'm surprised there hasn't been a straight up murder of someone yet, especially how Shane is going off the deep end.

@TV It's good to see someone else who has read up to the current issues. This comic is by far my favorite. I would love to start discussing some things, but I don't want to ruin it for anyone haha.

Do you think that the character of Shane adds or detracts from the show?
***COMIC BOOK SPOILERS***
The reason I ask this (to those not in the know) is because the scene where Shane lines Rick up in his sights in the woods is completely different in the comic. In the comic, Carl shoots Shane in the neck and kills him when he threatens Rick. Shane is only in it for like... 5 issues max. Rick later comes back and kills zombie Shane, lol.
I felt for a while there that the comic book Rick had been split into two characters; Rick & Shane. My girlfriend hates Rick and loves Shane; she says Rick is always running off and leaving Lori and Carl, which is really irresponsible. I just don't know. I like Rick and I like Shane. I want them to hurry the fvck up and leave the farm. They need to go to the Prison!!! They need to find Michonne!!! They need to go to war with Woodbury... It's moving a little bit slow for my liking, given I know how many exciting things are yet to happen.

The comic is extremely fast paced. I downloaded a torrent with the first 68 issues and downloaded the rest seperately. It only took me like... 4 days of solid reading to read from 1 to 91? 92, 93 and 94 have come out since then.

What would you read them on? The first comics are really expensive.

Now that Dale is dead, the moral compass of the show is removed, leaving others to now fill that role. With Shane dead (wow, was not expecting that), most of the internal conflict is now removed.

Prediction for last episode of Season 2:

The Walkers in the field is the result of a mass migration from Atlanta. The amount of Walkers could be in the thousands. Rick and Carl will run back to the farm to sound the alarm. All of the group will take up defensive positions to repel the invasion. They will kill many Walkers, but the sheer numbers will overwhelm the group.

I believe it will come down to Rick and Herschel arguing over whether or not to flee the farm, as it has been compromised. Hershel will refuse to leave, and as a result his entire family (with the exception of Maggie) will perish.

As well, I believe at 2 more people from the original group will die in the massacre (my prediction is T-Dog and the obnoxious, short-haired woman will become zombie bait).

That's a total of 6 from the group dead in this last episode.

The remainder of the group will flee in their vehicles with no definitive plan, but mind you, Rick has aspirations to head to northern territory, believing that the cold impact the Walkers.

Season 3 will begin with them on the road, fleeing to the north

You know what pisses me off. The fact that one of the main character Dayrall died. I mean like WTF. THen Shane dies, I know he had it coming to him but this obviously means the show is comin' to an end. They'll survive the last episode but not next season.
