While it is funny, I do find this sort of thing very cruel. Telemarketers are only doing their job - I doubt they enjoy it, just like we don't. To do this is only inviting someone to press charges or do the same to you.

Absolutely hilarious. My dad does this sort of thing every time we have a telemarketer call. Unfortunately, he doesn't record them. Oh, the things I could share with you if he did...

I agree, they are just doing their job and it's a shame they're so universally despised. I suppose my issue is more with the practice of telemarketing rather than the telemarketers themselves.

Agreed. People should take up their problems with the companies, not the people that work for those companies.

It's part of their job to take verbal abuse. That just goes with the territory yeh know?
It came to be at its height. It was commanded to command. It was a capital before its first stone was laid. It was a monument to the spirit of man.

Very true. I already know this due to a phone blitz a couple weeks ago for party membership. Not fun.

My welcome to the internet package was just full of porn and pop-up ads.

Seriously dude, just because it's old doesn't mean everyone's seen it. There are only so many hours in the day, and if you've also got a life outside the internet (I suppose you'll have to take my word on this), you're left with about 2 hours of net time a day. Subtract emails, DDO and porn time, and you're down to about 10 minutes.

i saw this one on TV, twas good.
I used to be a telemarketer (but technically we weren't selling anything), and i still think this is hilarious. The potential for pranks is huge on either side of the phone, i just wish i had done a few before i quit that job.

Chuckles, you were a telemarketer who didn't sell anything? Huh? Lol I've had two similar jobs: I worked at the Rutgers Telefund, which basically meant calling alumni and asking for donations... it was essentially telemarketing and it SUCKED (but I did get $11.50 an hour which is way above minimum wage). I also did cold-calling for a mortgage company; again it's essentially like telemarketing. I called a bunch of people and asked them if they wanted to refinance their homes, get ARMs (adjustable rate mortgages), etc. Both of these jobs hurt my hypothetical soul.

hahaha yeah, we did surveys, or"data collection" as they called it, on a lot of topics. It ranged from calling Acura customers to make sure their service visits were A-okay to blatantly biased political surveys trying to get people in Nowhere County, Minnesota to vote for So & So for the House of Representatives. The only part i really hated was the biased political surveys. Either you piss off the person you call, or you end up convincing some uneducated voter to vote for So & So because the survey cast his opponent in a bad light.

But the call center i was at was good, cool people, steady drug flow, etc etc haha
