Oh wow, I didn't know about Jimmy Page being in that movie. I'll have to watch out for that one. Peter Jackson is also directed the first movie on my list. He's doing some great things this summer.

Rofl. I had never heard of Ponyo until I saw the Disney trailer. I hope my first glimpse of the story won't be botched by Disney.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND!

I'm gonna go see it in a 3-D IMAX theater... tripping face!

Lol okay, so maybe not. In addition to that probably being a little scary, I'll probably just smoke a little bit with my roomies. Fun stuff.

I'm looking forward to the Hobbit. It's coming out around 2011.

Can't wait.

No Halo Movie?

Not with Peter Jackson and Neil Blomkamp at least. I read somewhere, though, that someone (his name escapes me) has written a script, showed it to Steven Speilberg and Speilberg was blown away, so maybe we will get one. Just not with the director/producer team I was hoping for.

Same here. As long as they don't cast Daniel Radcliffe as Bilbo, I'm happy.

Ian McKellen has already set aside two years for the films, so we know we're getting everyone's favorite Gandalf back.

BTW, just heard that The Hobbit, originally planned as two films now may become three, with Jackson directing the third which will be a bridge, filling the gaps between The Hobbit and The Fellowship.

Also, Jackson is pushing to do it in 3-D.

I just saw District 9 last night. It's not the typical Peter Jackson film. I thought the main character was a riot and the plot was totally unexpected. The trailers are very misleading. It was a good film though. I give it 3 out of 5 stars. lol

I saw District 9. Very well done. It could have really been F'd up or have the alot come out wrong. But the documentary style intertwines with the whole situation, and it seemingly turns from first person action to the documentary. Also, the CGI blends in well enough, with enough real weapons so they could focus on making the "prawns" perfect. Some of the spaceship stuff is pretty obvious though.

I give it 5 tentacles out of 5 :D.

Eh District 9 was somewhat lame. Guy abuses, blackmails, intelligent aliens, gets infected, remains a douche, is surprised when his company is the same sort of douche he is, then magical whammy he and alien are buddies... after the whole knocking the alien out cold as bait for the military, to fly an alien ship to the alien mother ship for some unkown reason.

With underlying tones of racism. The aliens are used solely for military reasons: The gangsters want their powers, as do governments and Pmc's.

I saw it with my sister and her BF, who said it was wide open for a sequel, which I disagree. There's very little plot to expand on without going to deep into sci-fi which will turn people off. Also, the whole mystery of why they went there seems appropriate.

Now if the aliens were treated as rational potential traders, which they appear to be in the movie, it would of been a lot more rosy. ^^

Afrikaans accent was fun though. :D

@Puck: Put a spoiler warning next time, man =P

@Panda: The thing had sequel written all over it. The abused becoming the abusers, inter-species romances, choosing between a familiar life that shuns him or a new life as a hero...District 10 will have it all haha.
