I'm trying to find this old song, but I don't know the name of the song, the artist, or very many of the lyrics.
It's a female singer, sounds vocally like Dido or Enya, mixed with something like Ace of Base.
Most of the lyrics I can remember are the girl singing:
"Doo do doo do do doo
do doo do doo doo do doo
I was walking in the grass
[something something something]
doo doo do doo do doo
doo doo do do doo do"

Any ideas? No poop jokes please.

Thanks
Britt

Del Reeves - Walking On New Grass

Doodle doodle doodle do do doo

I'm like a cloud driftin' from town to town
Each new love just helps me on my way
No one woman's ever gonna tie me down
When one gets too close I just back up and say

Well I gotta be walkin' on new grass singin' a new song
Tomorrow there's no tellin' where I'll be
But I'll be walkin' on new grass singin' a new song
The next time up the road keeps callin' me

I'm warnin' you don't fall in love with me
I don't plan on being here too long
You're just a leaf caught in a playfull breeze
I'll carry you a while then I'll be movin' on

Yeah I'll be walkin' on new grass...
Doodle doodle doodle do do doo

I won't take roots I never stay that long
And a bad seed just won't grow anyway
This rolling stone don't want to gather no moss
So when the grass starts to grow then I'll be on my way

Then I'll be walkin' on new grass...
Doodle doodle doodle do do doo

==========

It's not a girl, so...

Thanks for trying to help me; unfortunately this is definitely not the song. The one I'm thinking of is from, say, around the early to mid- 90s. It's stuck in my head. And I don't know why.

Thanks again.

At least I think that's the song you mean.

I'm going with this song, too.

One of those crappy new age "I'll describe 5 minutes of me going somewhere in talking voice" songs with a steady beat in the background.

Like 'Take a Walk on the Wild Side' by Lou Reed. Except that song f*cking pwns.
"Let me tell you the truth. The truth is, 'what is'. And 'what should be' is a fantasy, a terrible terrible lie that someone gave to the people long ago. The 'what should be' never did exist, but people keep trying to live up to it. There is no 'what should be,' there is only what is." - Lenny Bruce

"Satan goes to church, did you know that?" - Godsands

"And Genisis 1 does match modern science... you just have to try really hard." - GR33K FR33K5

In your attempt to sound clever, you misused the term new age.

Wow, you almost made me go death. Seriously I'd would much rather get mawed alive by a toothless old lady, then to hear that fecal crap you call music.

I'm well aware you can't get mawed alive by something that doesn't have any teeth.

I am now despatching one psychotic toothless old lady to Stockton, California for your pleasure. Her name is Irene and her gums are sharp.
