lol wut? And anyway Family Guy is funnier in my opinion. The Simpsons is too 'goody two-shoes' moral for me and Family Guy is more adult.

The Simpsons dominate this match-up easily. Family Guy may throw in more attempts at humor in a single episode, but they are random and instantly forgettable. You don't actually care about the characters, stories, or gags, which means episodes don't have any replay value. The Simpsons is funnier overall because we've been given the chance to actually care about what each character is doing.

Yes, there is really no storyline to Family Guy. If you cut out the random clips and references you might find 5-7 minutes (out of 21) of actual story. Someone should do a study :) The Simpsons isn't very entertaining, but for different reasons.

The characters always end up doing the moral thing in the end. The Simpsons doesn't make as many sex references as Family Guy.

That's a study I'd be willing to do as long as I get school time off or get paid.

Simpsons, hands-down.

Of course I can admit that the quality has waned in recent years, but so has Family Guy, and if we're talking about the heyday of each show, Family Guy can't hold a candle to the Simpsons.

I downloaded the most recent episode of Family Guy the other week (the Chevy Chase/Dan Aykroyd episode), and truly despised it. I haven't felt so disgusted (not because it's "gross", but because it was terribly unfunny) by 22 minutes of attempted humour since I last watched Two and a Half Men. It has gotten so far up its own @ss with its self-referencial "humour" that it's done a full 180 and doesn't know what the f*ck it's doing any more.

It's too late, we're already out of touch. The days of who shot Mr. Burns and halloween specials have been replaced with giant chicken fights and giggidy goo's.

Hey I abstain (my vote) as well. I agree with JBlake, but I've never been one for cartoon story-lines anyway. However, if South Park can be added to the docket, then I'm gonna hafta go ahead and vote The Boondocks :)

Hahaha. It's a sad state of affairs that's for sure. If "out of touch" means "into good humour", I'm all for it!

I downloaded the most recent Treehouse of Horror the other day, I believe it was on in America this past Sunday, it went alright man. Made me laugh more than any Family Guy episode has for 3 or so years...

And yeah South Park goes good, very well-written.

I think South Park is the most biting and clever, but even SP (Season 6) acknowledged how "The Simpsons Already Did It" for, like, every idea possible in a cartoon show. So there's another nod to The Simpsons.

The first 9 seasons of The Simpsons are great, particularly 3-5. Classic.

Haha! This sums it up. Not that Family Guy is without its merits, but compared to the Simpsons, no way.

Nags, I've lost all respect for you. It's basically how I choose who I hate IRL... you like Family Guy better than Simpsons, you're dead to me.

Lol. I don't know anyone IRL who likes the Simpsons more than Family Guy. Young, old, male, female - it doesn't matter, everyone loves Family Guy. I find it odd that so many people on here like the Simpsons more.

How old are we talking? It's difficult to imagine people over the age of 30 sitting down to catch Family Guy.

Yeah and this is why I hate most people haha. My friends and I don't mind a bit of FG after a few bongs or if it's on TV and nothing else is, but I need a good storyline and good character development as well as stupid humour (Peter farting on Meg's head, for example) to get me off man. The stupid humour on its own doesn't suffice.

To show just how well Simpsons has developed their characters, dig this picture: http://media.myfoxorlando.com...

Nearly every one of those characters, and there are plenty more, have been developed to the point where even a casual fan can name most of them, their quirks, a few funny lines they've said, and so forth.

I would suggest the reason DDO attracts more Simpsons fans than Family Guy is because it is a far more intelligent show. Say what you will about the humour of each (this is mere personal opinion), but there is absolutely no denying that Simpsons is more clever.

And that's the last I'll say on it because I'm clearly taking this whole "feud" too far lol.

Well, take most parents for example. Most of my friend's parents, if they occasionally watch Family Guy or the Simpsons, they find Family Guy more funny. At least that's how I see it. I'm not saying they watch it daily, but if asked the question - I have the feeling most parents would find Family Guy funnier.

I would absolutely agree. The early seasons of Simpsons were classic. A lot of the jokes actually required a bit of thinking to get them, which made them that much funnier. Both Simpsons and Family Guy have gone significantly downhill recently, although Family Guy more recently than the Simpsons. It's a tough call but I would say that nothing beats the Simpsons up to season 9.
