This is especially for Noumena (given I know your taste). Mind the corny intro to the video (silly youtubers). Give every song at least one listen.

First time in a long time I've heard words so true, it made me want to cry:

That's fvcking weird. I've been listening to this song non-stop for the last week. Mostly because I also have a love of thrift stores but also partially because the guy looks like me if I had a baby with the Situation.

I love this song.

Macklemore is awesome too. I think he's a great guy. I couldn't sit down and listen to an album of his though.

That song is an exception with Macklemore. After hearing that, I doubted I could listen to an entire album, either.

But, PCP pointed out a couple of songs that I think exemplify his work a lot more effectively.

Give the second one a listen at least and see whether you change your mind.

Yes. I am a robot and hate all things sentimental. O__O

lol I just don't like the music and I especially don't like the hook. I could listen to it if someone put it on but I wouldn't just sit and chill on my headphones with it.

I especially like the refrain at the end. I'm sure that has something to do with the fact that it's from the Bible and I'm a Christian, but still. It was a nice touch.

"Love is patient, love is kind." Great lyrics overall of course...

Yes, no doubt the lyrics are great. I didn't realize that was from the bible. That is indeed a nice touch. Very clever.

Yup:

"If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres"

This passage is often used at Christian weddings during the vows.

There's Christian inspiration all over that song:

"It"s human rights for everybody, there is no difference!
Live on and be yourself
When I was at church they taught me something else
If you preach hate at the service those words aren"t anointed
That holy water that you soak in has been poisoned
When everyone else is more comfortable remaining voiceless
Rather than fighting for humans that have had their rights stolen
I might not be the same, but that"s not important
No freedom till we"re equal, damn right I support it"

Beautiful.
