Now, I'm far from a Trekkie but I do love myself some Star Trek.

Personally, I think my favorite series is Star Trek Voyager with TNG close on it's heels.

I liked Paris far better than I liked Riker and the dire situation of the Voyager makes for a grittier show.

What's your favorite brand of Star Trek?

Posting to remind myself to post here later.

It shall be comprehensive.

It shall be controversial.

Captains
Picard > Sisko > Janeway > Kirk > Archer

1st Officers
Spock > Riker > Chakotay > T'Pol > Kira

Chief Engineers
La Forge > Scotty > O'Brien > Torres > Tucker

Doctors
The Doctor > Bones > Phlox > Bashir > Crusher

Chief of Security
Worf > Odo > Tuvok > Reed > Chekov

Chief Science Officer
Data > Dax > 7 of 9

Chief Conn Officer
Sulu > Paris > Mayweather >>>>>>>>>>>>> Wesley Crusher

Superfluous Female Officer
Ezri > Troi > Uhura > Sato > Kes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Going off the officer lists alone, the shows would be ranked as follows:
Next Generation > Original Series > Deep Space 9 > Voyager > Enterprise
I will delve into the details of each series and elaborate on why that list is pretty much on point tomorrow. In the mean time, I would love to see responses to my list and similar lists from others with no lives =D
TNG and TOS. I don't really like any of the others.
Nice chart, I approve.
The way I rank them (I'll just do captains and series).
Voyager>TNG>TOS>DS9>Enterprise
Picard>Janeway>Kirk>Sisko>Archer
But Janeway is a close second, she was bada$$.
Don't know if this changes your outcome, but Spock was also Chief Science Officer. So, who is better, Data or Spock? If Spock, then I believe you are tied.
Yeah I knew, but I included him above and I didn't want repeats. If I had, he and Data would have played a game of futuristic chess for first.
Data wasn't science officer, he was operations officer. Gold Shirt vs. Blue.
He was both. He was also Second Officer, but all the other Ops Officers and Second Officers were already somewhere else on the list.
I still think Janeway is a total bad@$$. She led that ship through a dangerous and uncharted part of space and gave no ground to anyone, ever. Her task was exceedingly difficult.
I toyed with the debate resolution: Janeway deserved to be court-martialed, but I love her too damn much.
She was hardly operating in regular conditions. And she kept that ship running at Star Fleet standards throughout to the best of her ability.
Well I mean it's one thing to be "open minded" but this is my opinion I've generated from personally watching the series. I don't see how someone else's view of the series is going to change the level of entertainment I derived from it.
I didn't say anything about retroactively going back in time and altering the level of enjoyment you received from watching it. I was talking about thinking it is a good series.
A recent Star Trek convention audience voted the following as the best possible crew:
Captain: Janeway
1st Officer: Spock
Engineer: Scotty
Doctor: The Doctor (Voyager)
Security: Odo
Communications: Sato
Helms: Dax
Wild Card: Data
https://www.facebook.com...
First of all, I lose respect for any list that doesn't have Picard as the Captain. Also, the addition of any member of the Enterprise crew (Sato) should be banned. Other than that, and my personal preference for La Forge over Scotty, I think the list is pretty damn good.
I've watched about 50 of his reviews over the last month or so. This guy...is a genius. He is up there with the funniest and most insightful reviewers on the interwebz. Everyone who is even slightly interested in Star Trek should absolutely check him out.
He's also made me hate Voyager a little bit lol.
The greatest part is +1 points to the score if Neelix doesn't appear.
I knew I didn't like Neelix, I just didn't realize how much haha.
I enjoy how easily he shows that Janeway could, in fact, be a villain haha.
