I wonder why we haven't made one already, the anime/manga has had a fairly large boost in popularity.

I'll just say I love it. The first time I watched the anime, I was completely and utterly terrified. It invoked such strong feelings of hopelessness and loss that I trully didn't feel at ease. Then later, when you expect the story to get a bit more fortunate, bam, you feel like sh!t again.

For those who don't know, the story is focused on a community of people forced into three large circular walls, where they live, protected from the titans. The titans misteriously appeared one hundred years ago. They range from 3-15 (at times up to 50) meters and look mostly like deformed human males.

What is so creepy about them is not their appearsnce, but their behavior. They don't need food, they don't care about any animal. All they care for is eating humans. Omnomnom. It is somewhat like a game to them.

And then one day, the outermost wall is broken... oh the horror.

Vid is of my fav. Character. Garen is no longer the spinmaster.

The artwork is incredible. By your impression of the plot, it sounds very similar to Deadman Wonderland

It really isn't, like at all.

The art/animation is amazing.. that said, I couldn't help but read all the manga available after watching the first 7 episodes.

At OP's recommendation, I watched the first episode last night. It's quite good.
I'm definitely going to watch a more.

I was really just referring to this part:

" It invoked such strong feelings of hopelessness and loss that I trully didn't feel at ease. Then later, when you expect the story to get a bit more fortunate, bam, you feel like sh!t again"

that's definitely what I got out of Deadman wonderland

I'd recommend reading it also, because they drag the show out in the middle so that they could end the first half on a high note. There are like three episodes in a row where all they do is talk about doing stuff.

Don't know how the pacing is now, though. I'm a few episodes behind and it's still airing.

Yeah, titans can be scary, I found manga far less creepy, especially when you get to the point where elites cut through titans like butter rather than dying to them.

The art in manga begginnings was much much worse than what it is now. I am amazed by the amount of improvement made. And now the anime looks stunning. So glad for that.

Manga comes out monthly, though:(

I would like to watch this but there doesn't seem to be a dub and I'm pretty much functionally illiterate. Sucks.

I don't see how can you be illiterate if you can read and write.

Oh, no need to. I simply do not see the difference in suspense between sub and dub.

The difference in suspense would likely come from the fact that most people who do voices in English dubs absolutely suck at capturing the atmosphere and feel of the characters. Something that's supposed to be serious or emotional comes off as people reading words off a page.

True. I guess you reading what he said would take some of that suspense but it does not really do that to me. But yep, most dubbers are bad and they should feeo bad.
