OK, I can't tell if it was "whip" but I saw a promo for Roseanne Barr's comedy on HBO, from 1991 or so. I know she said, "It's so f--king great," but then she says another word which I ca't tell what they're saying. I think it's "whip." Is that word explicit too? This is news to me.

Most television censorship is about context, not about what words are actually uttered, it's why cable shows don't censor the word "a*s" but do censor the word "a*shole".
