Hello, recently I have been getting into the 4th edition of DnD ( Since I heard it was the easiest to learn ). This is my first time doing DnD I would like some tips or just some general information.

I will be a DM for a group of friends I am trying to assemble.

Thank you

I don't know much, but I can't imagine the DM should be someone who has never played before.
That's like hosting a dinner mystery party having never played.

You don't know what to expect, you don't know how to prod, and you don't know what you, as DM, can and cannot do (or rather, should or shouldn't do).
My work here is, finally, done.

I have a small group formed, we are going to learn together.
How are you supposed to learn if you never try to learn?

By playing with someone who knows what they are doing, an experienced DM.
What happens if you play incorrectly, then a newcomer enters your group and is upset that you are playing wrong, or one from this group embarrasses themselves with another DM?

I could be wrong, and maybe the game is very self-explanatory. I just assume there is a lot of free will, and a DM needs to anticipate and deal with the players' actions.

Either way, good luck and have fun.

Is there a hobby shop or game store near you?
They may be able to help you.

Yea, I recently bought 4th edition books from one, really nice people.
Infact I got to play a demo game of Warhammer, something like that.
