Everyone who's bored should definitely check out GoT we're up to season 4 right now, this show is a ride of awesome joy and fun but also heartbreaks and mindfu*ks.

I've read the books so anyone on season 4 get ready for craziness.

Is it worth getting HBO for?

I just checked, and apparently I'm already subscribed to HBO on cable... apparently that gives me access to their online streaming site. I didn't know that.

Its definitely worth it, I'd start from season 1 though if I were you and you can get your hands on it

the show follows a really precise story adapted from the books and jumping in 4 seasons ahead would kill a lot of events leading up to the story now

It's not that good. It's good but it's not that good. Like I wouldn't mind if I saw up till the middle of season 2 and stopped watching altogether. I'm only watching it because my peers are watching it.

If you're into medieval/adventure/porn/drama shows then Game of Thrones is for you.

lol, i dont like it when people write it off as a medieval porn fantasy. If you read the books you can see just how in depth the characters are. Every personality is so different and very real from a psychological perspective.

It's not your run of the mill Good guys are good and bad guys are bad.

In game of thrones every character has redeeming qualities and downfalls just like people have good and bad sides.

The books itself were inspired from actual medieval history, and no. Not the dragons or ice zombies. The actions of the people and rulers.

Game of Thrones is full of disturbing images like... incest, beheadings, attempted child murder, more incest and thats just the first episode!

For a show with so many monologues, HBO will desperately try to keep your attention by any boobs necessary.

Not that I'm complaining.

Boobssss.

Yes, the show features many disturbing themes, including the ones you listed. This show is not marketed for young adults and children, although mainly watched by teenagers there are many intellectuals who also enjoy watching this show.

I'd like to point out to you that all the themes you listed, are things that are very real and still happening in many under-developed countries today. This show does an extremely good job and depicting some of the horrific things that have happened in medieval times and also still nowadays.

If this show didn't include sex, prostitution and nudity it would lose an aspect of realness to it. The books are much more detailed and it's not written as a porno, it often developes the characters and shows you their true side.

Geoffrey has no redeeming qualities. Well, except for dying.

Also, the most amazing, memorable scenes arent the ones with boobs. But I tend to find what happens across the narrow sea, as the most interesting events in GoT.

It's true, he was a very foolish king. However people like Geoffrey exist, and given power like he was given they would act the exact same way. Geoffrey's sadistic personality is realistic. He's been subject to manipulation by his mother, neglect from his "fathers" And completely pushed away by Tywin.

I feel sorry for Geoffrey though I absolutely hate him as much as everyone else does. but in a way he's sadistic whims are the result of how he's been molded by everyone's bad qualities in the kingdom. and then he's given a crown and power which drives him crazy.

thank you for appreciating the show not just for boobs. And the events across the narrow sea will really build up this season so stay tuned.

Well, meh. I mean, the difference between Daenarys and her brother, is a demonstration that two people can live in and be raised in the same circumstance/environment, while one becomes an entitled sadistic @sshole, and the other is somewhat nicer and empathetic.

Yeah, but I heard a rumour that it was the actor who played Daenarys, who refused to go naked before the camera ever again.

Danny's brother always had power as they were growing up. When they're freeloading off people across the narrow sea the hosts always cater to Viserys' wants and needs. He always tells Danny that he will sell her to a barbaric rapist (which he does) just to get an army. In the books he also molests Danny.

They were definitely raised under very different circumstances. Since he was raised to be a king and she was raised to be a nobody and a resource to viserys. She was essentially a slave to him for a very long time and this has made her empathetic to all slaves. and dreams of becoming a fair and just ruler.

And when I said there was a buildup I wasn't talking about a sex scene -_-

Really? I thought Viserys was exiled at a very young age, and spent most of his youth running around in poverty?

And when I said there was a buildup I wasn't talking about a sex scene -_-

I know, but since the topic was boobs, i thought it was worth discussing.

Well, meh. I mean, the difference between Daenarys and her brother, is a demonstration that two people can live in and be raised in the same circumstance/environment, while one becomes an entitled sadistic @sshole, and the other is somewhat nicer and empathetic.

thank you for appreciating the show not just for boobs. And the events across the narrow sea will really build up this season so stay tuned.

Really? I thought Viserys was exiled at a very young age, and spent most of his youth running around in poverty?

And when I said there was a buildup I wasn't talking about a sex scene -_-

I know, but since the topic was boobs, i thought it was worth discussing.

During the rebellion, they where taken across the narrow sea for protection. they did spend a portion of the time in poverty, however Viserys and Danny stayed at that one guys place at the beginning of the show, I can't remember his name. And Viserys was able to take advantage of him because he had a claim to the thrown. So he basically kissed his a$$. And viserys and danny stayed at his place for a while. They're only like 15 and 14 in the books at the start

They were taken to dragonstone after the rebellion, and stayed under ser willem darrys protection until he died, then they started bumming beds from powerful guests in the free cities. But they kept getting kicked out and had to sell almost all of their things. The reason they called him the beggar king was because he needed housing for a long time. And the powerful elites in the free cities were getting annoyed with him. But there were still houses that believed in the targaryen rule. And this is what deluded viserys and fed his "IM THE KING DONT WAKE THE DRAGON B!TCH" attitude towards danny

Yeah, but I heard a rumour that it was the actor who played Daenarys, who refused to go naked before the camera ever again.
No, it was the whore Geoffrey killed.

No, it's danny. Emilia Clarke.

The Sun notes that Chaplin "refused to name the actress," but adds, "There has been speculation that it could be Emilia Clarke " who plays the former king"s daughter Daenerys Targaryen."

Really?

Not. At. All.

LOL you're right. that article says its most likely not her.

Boobssss.

Lol, no. Also that source is unreliable and outdated.

Emilia Clarke went nude on season 3 episode 9 or 10 I believe when she met that guy who was recast on season 4.

If you do some more researching and use reliable sources, its actually Ros, the whore, who refused to do anymore nude scenes. Since she was playing a whore and her character requires her to go nude, the GoT production crew decided to kill her off.

Not true at all. There's a crucial difference between the upbringing of Daenerys and Viserys which, in the books, suggests why Viserys was so obsessed with revenge, bitter, and constantly angry whereas Daenerys was not. Unlike Daenerys , Viserys had clear memories of Westoros. He knew what they had lost, and what the Baratheons/Starks/Lannisters took from them. He was old enough to long for it back and it all turned him extremely bitter and hateful. Daenerys talks about it in the books. All she herself had was her brother's recollections and a faint memory of a house with a red door, so it didn't matter to her as much. She grew up on the run. Viserys did not. She even says the times when her brother was talking about Westoros were the only times he ever seemed really happy or something like that. Viserys was also closer to the throne than Daenerys and thus lost more and had more to gain. Plus, and quite importantly, Daenerys was raised by Viserys. You can't say they were raised in the same environment when one had to raise his little sister himself, which certainly must have added pressure to his life and put him in an entirely different role than his sister.

All of which seems to suggest that being forced out their home, into exile, and constant fear for their lives had a worse effect on Viserys because he was old enough at the time to be turned extremely bitter and angry by it, had more to lose/gain, and had to take on the role of Daenerys' guardian.

Incest is a thing in the Game of Thrones world.

I don't see what the big deal is.
