Did anyone ever play DWM? I'm talking about the original two, of course; DQM is pretty lame.

I guess not. It was undermined by the release of Pokemon, so I don't think that many people will know what it is.

DWM is freakin' amazing. I remember trying to breed the crazy awesome ones that took a while to level up but had awesome stats.

The original for Gameboy and Tara's Adventure. I prefered Tara's Adventure.

Me too. Breeding was more difficult in the original and the second series had more to do.

But you can breed Pokemon too. And they have 493 of them now.
It is odd when one's capacity for compassion is measured not in what he is willing to do by his own time, effort, and property, but what he will force others to do with their own property instead.

I have never even heard of this. Maybe because Pokemon took over? Oh well.

They came out around the same time as Pokemon, it's basically the same thing but for an older audience.

Digimon is quite a good competitor to Pokemon. This one too could have been. Any reason for what went the wrong way?

I loved Digimon too, and Pokemon. Haha. They were like my two favorite things as a child.

The later seasons changed a whole lot and it lost the appeal that it once had, especially since it started to take place in the "real world"

I really only liked the first two seasons.

I like them all, but I like the later ones for completely different reasons than I like the early ones. The first two are still my favorites.

Yea, the others were alright too, but I don't know, by like the fourth season it really started to lose some of its vibe.

That was about the Digimon TV show >_<. I'm not even aware of any DWM after Tara's/Cobi's.

They had DWM3 and then Dragon Quest Monsters, which used a new system and was pretty lame imo.

Are you sure, I just visited the wiki and the only other game in the series available in English is this one for the DS, which I might get:

http://en.wikipedia.org...

Dragon Quest is a whole different thig than DWM, and it's older.

O hey look, DQM.

Dragon Quest is a whole different thig than DWM, and it's older.

Actually:

Dragon Quest is older, but DQM came after DWM.

And, to compare:
Yu Gi Oh! (1996)
Digimon (1997)
Pokemon (September 1998)

Actually it's:

Digimon (June 1997)
Pokemon (1996)

You're forgetting Japan had them first. Don't care about Yu-Gi-Oh.

And also, the earlier Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest games have a completely different concept than Dragon Warrior Monsters. The only similarity is the name.
