The cool, night wind rustled his dusty blonde hair as Thett looked out on the lake, enjoying the starry sky and the feel of the sand between his toes. He never understood people"s annoyance with the gritty feeling of sand. To him it wasn"t an annoyance, but rather a reminder of home, of a place where he belongs, even if that belonging was only a fa"ade. He loved everything about these types of enviroments; give him a body of water, or a sunny beach, and he"s entirely in his element.

Then again he was probably a little biased, being a son of Poseidon and all, but it kind of came with the territory of living in Camp Half-Blood and being related to a greek god.

Thett let out another sigh, laying down against the sand and staring upwards at the sky. It wasn"t that big of a secret that the lives of demigods were fairly rough. What with the life expectancy of around the mid-twenties, the deadly prophecies, bipolar parents who would only contemplate about not screwing you over if they were in a good mood, and send hordes of deadly and vicious monsters after you if they felt like playing a practical joke on you, and little to no friends outside of the people you have swordfighting practice with, it made the accompanying signs of demigod-hood (diseases like ADHD and dyslexia, which weren"t really diseases in their case) look like minor inconveniences. Not to mention that the one parent this life sticks you with usually isn"t long for life either"

Thett shook his head quickly, trying to brush the bad thoughts and memories off. It wasn"t really something he wanted to think about, but it was either that or the other thing he had to do tonight that he really didn"t want to think about"

"Thett? What are you doing out here so late?"

Thett sat up, looking behind him in surprise to see Cermank walking along the beach, tilting her head slightly to the side before sitting down next to him, her legs crossed. Thett smiled at the sight of her"she was, out of all the campers he had gotten to know during his time there, the one he was closest to"before laying back down and staring up at the sky. "Just enjoying a nice night out by the lake. I could ask you the same question, though. Don"t daughters of Aphrodite need their beauty sleep, or something?" Thett asked jokingly, earning an eye-roll from Cermank.

"I"ll have you know that it really isn"t as important as you"re making it out to be. And just because my mother is the Goddess of Beauty, that doesn"t mean I"m always concerned about my appearance..." she started, but let it draw out for a bit, as if something else came to her mind. ""although I could use some more eye shadow." She finally admitted, which got a short, dry laugh from Thett.

Thett wanted to enjoy this alone time with Cermank, he really did. It just didn"t"feel right. He knew why it didn"t feel right, but it didn"t ease his guilty conscience any. Cermank eyed the son of Poseidon, a worried expression in her eyes. "You okay?" she asked, just to make sure.

Thett rubbed the bridge of his nose with his thumb and index finger, trying to wipe away the distant look on his face. "Yeah, yeah, sorry. Just haven"t been sleeping well these past few weeks. The usual "you"re going to die in the most gruesome way imaginable and there"s nothing you can do about it!" kind of stuff"" he faked. It wasn"t entirely fake either, it was a reality that virtually every demigod had to deal with.

Cermank frowned a little bit, before looking out at the lake, contemplating an idea. Finally, she gets up, walking toward the water. Thett looks up in interest as Cermank wades into the lake water, feeling the cold water rush past her ankles, up to her knees before she turned around to face the son of Poseidon. "Come on, fish face! Stop moping around and get off your butt! Or are you too scared to get your feet wet?" she taunted with a grin on her face.

Thett thought about it for a bit, before getting up with a smile. He had some time to kill anyway, and he couldn"t think of anyone he would rather goof off with.

Darkness shrouded her like a cloak, concealing her in the night. Her dark clothing aided in the subterfuge, enabling her to stay crouched in the open field she resided in without any risk of being detected. Stealth and solitude were not her only defenses, however, as two swords hung at her sides and the hilt of a dagger poked up out of her boot.

The rustling of grass disturbed her silent meditation, and her reflexes instantly became aware of what was around her. The sound originated from behind her, and her hands slowly dropped down to the hilts of her twin blades. She could hear the footsteps coming closer and closer, step by rustling step. Her fingers closed in around the pommels, slowly pulling them out as silently as possible. Only a few steps away"

In an instant she turned around, her blades flying from their scabbards and forming a deadly vice around the neck of"

"REV!?" she shouted in a hushed whisper. The shocked, terrified look of her younger brother with her blades against his throat was in her eyes now, and she was quick to remove her weapons and return them to their resting places on her hip. "Rev, what are you doing here? I thought I told you to stay back at the camp."

Rev just rolled his eyes, squatting down next to his older sister, clothed in a similar all-black garb, a dagger attached to his hip. "You"re not my mom, Annie. Besides, I"m tired of waiting! I want to hunt down these Demigod scum like the bad guys they are!"

Annie could only roll her eyes, refocusing back to the task at hand. "Yeah, well, just make sure you stay hidden and quiet. You"ll get your chance to make your mark soon enough." She told her younger brother, who nodded and assumed the same stony silent focus that she had. In truth, though, Annie was worried about her younger brother joining them in their upcoming battle. He was still young and inexperienced in the ways of fighting, and it was likely to get very bloody and very dangerous. With Rev being the only family she had left, what with her mom being gone and her father, Pallas, being a Titan"

Her thoughts abruptly ended as a figured crested over a hill, the silhouette of the figure"s form being the only distinguishable feature in the night. The figure reached behind him, pulling out an object from presumably a pocket or backpack. A beam of light emerged from the hill, vanishing after a split second of being alive. It returned, remained for roughly three seconds, before vanishing once again. The beam returned for a third time, for only a second again before vanishing.

Annie got up from her position. "That"s the signal." Was all she said before approaching the hill, Rev following close behind. It took them only a moment before they were face-to-face with the stranger. An awkwardness aired between them for a moment, neither party sure how to start the conversation. Finally, the stranger spoke.

"I did as you asked. I spoke the names of all the Demititans and monsters you"re bringing inside the camp. You should have no problems crossing the borders. The greek fire pots that we use as a defense mechanism if anyone gets past the border now have no detonators, so you shouldn"t have to worry about that on your approach. Any other defenses the camp has I either can"t get to or you should be able to overcome without too much difficulty." The camper spoke, the last part having an acidic tone that Annie ignored: she just convinced the camper to kill every friend and feeling of home that was spared to Demigods, so naturally there would be no happy feeling about ensuring the assault against Camp Half-Blood went off without a hitch. She nodded simply.

"Good. And worry not for the fate of your friends. Your place is now with us, as it rightfully should be." The figure didn"t seem to like that explanation, but if there was a complaint, it was not voiced.

"Okay, but how am I going to get out? I don"t think you"re going to train your monsters to not kill me if they see me, and if they figured out I betrayed them, then I don"t think I"m going to get a warm reception from them either."

"Go to where the fighting is thickest. I will be there and will escort you out. You have nothing to fear."

The camper seemed visibly disapproving of the plan, but accepted it nonetheless. "Right, flawless plan. I"m going to go back to my cabin now and await the destruction of all my friends and my home." The figure said, before turning back and jogging in the direction of the camp, just barely visible on the horizon. Annie watched the silhouette slowly but surely disappear into the night before turning to her younger brother. "Come, the time for revenge is nearly upon us."
