Just a short and sweet episode today! I wanted to wait to release this episode until episode 3 was done, but then I got sick and didn't work on it at all. Oh, well. Enjoy!

The previous episode is here: http://www.debate.org...

The City of Awindar

"Rev! Put that away!"

Rev glanced up in time to see his big brother Uchi snatch away his holovision. Uchi glared at the small circular device, switched it off, and then glared at Rev, who found himself hoping Uchi hadn't noticed what, exactly, he'd been watching.

"You know mom'll flip if she sees this," Uchi scolded.

"She's not here," Rev said. "Give it back!"

"I'm not letting you get caught." Uchi slid the holovision into his pocket. "Last time mom found your gaming station, she went on a hunt. Nearly found mine."

Rev threw himself onto his bed. "I don't get it. Just because grandma was a superstitious nut who thought technology stole your soul...."

"I know," Uchi agreed.

But Rev wasn't finished complaining. "I mean, we live in Awindar. Awindar! Capital of technology! The Practitioners have been churning out this stuff for...." He paused. "How long have the Practitioners been in charge?"

Uchi shrugged. "Dunno. Don't care. Politics is like a penis. You do your best to keep it private and sometimes it explodes."

Rev thought for a moment. "Isn't DK the oppositional leader?"

Uchi snorted. "Doesn't matter. We're not voting the Practitioners out. Well, I'm not voting, but you know what I mean."

"I want to vote."

Uchi rolled his eyes. "Of course you do."

"Mom votes every election."

"Yeah, for whatserface. Debility. The kook who thinks she can abolish technology."

"Thought you didn't pay attention to politics."

"Mom talks about her like she's a hero."

Rev groaned and burrowed his face in his pillow. "Can I have my holovision back now?"

The Kingdom of DDO
Present Day

The Lord of the Trolls stretched out on a branch and watched the clouds pass by.

He had retreated to the Pollust following the battle. He knew the chaos that would erupt throughout the Kingdom. It would be an era of rebuilding and reconstruction and, frankly, that bored him. Order was far less interesting than chaos. Still, Imabench knew he had to wait. There would be plenty of opportunities for spreading chaos later.

But not too much later. He had allotted a maximum of four weeks for the Kingdom's remaining government to announce elections for a new president. Three of those four weeks had elapsed. Truth be told, that disappointed Imabench. He'd expected YYW, bsh1, Airmax, and the others to move far quicker than they had.

"Spaceking!" Imabench called out.

Within seconds, the younger troll appeared below the tree. Although trolls were not considered magical, they could travel faster than anyone imagined. That was part of what had made Fluffy so difficult to kill so many years ago. Trolls could cause chaos, vanish, and reappear elsewhere in a manner of moments, ready to repeat the cycle. In a way, it made life...boring. Having to wait around for everyone else to catch up....

Imabench realized Spaceking was still waiting below him.

"Spaceking," he said again, "has there been any news from the Kingdom?"

"None, my lord." Spaceking had a bizarre way of shaking his head. Rather than just moving his neck horizontally, like most people, Spaceking swayed with his entire body, as though he were a cobra. Doing so allowed him to keep his gaze locked on his target. It was unsettling. It was perfect for a troll.

"You'll let me know the moment there is?"

"Of course, my lord."

"You're dismissed." Imabench turned his attention back to the sky. Another white, puffy cloud lazed its way across his vision. Imabench sighed.

He had waited this long. He could afford to wait a little longer.
____________________

"We can't afford to wait any longer!"

"Jonbonbon." NiamC backed away, raising his hands before him. "I assure you, we're doing everything possible -"

"THREE WEEKS!" Jonbonbon shrieked. "I'VE GIVEN YOU THREE WEEKS AND HE'S NOT GETTING BETTER!"

"These things take time," NiamC coaxed. "With the Practitioners withholding most of their medical supplies and technology, we're having to make do with very little." Seeing the effect of his words, he added, "OncomingStorm will make a fully recovery. I'm sure of it. But you need to be patient."

To his relief, Jonbonbon stopped shouting. She kept staring at him for another few seconds before dropping her gaze. "I don't know what to do," she said.

NiamC hesitantly placed his hand on her shoulder. "Why don't you go and sit with him some more? I know he'd appreciate your being there."

"Yeah." Jonbonbon nodded. "Yeah, okay."

NiamC escorted her back into OncomingStorm's room. Once she was inside, he leaned against the wall and wiped his forehead. He was doing his best, but the Health Forum had been disregarded for so long. It didn't have the funds to treat this many people.

War benefits three industries, he thought darkly. Steel, medical, and funeral.

___________

In the safety of their temporary home, YYW and bsh1 lay in bed together.

bsh1 lay with his back to his partner, staring at the dark curtains concealing the window. It was midafternoon, and both had significant amounts of work to do, but somehow they'd found themselves guided by other priorities. YYW absently traced patterns on his back with the tip of a gentle finger.

"I'm so glad you're back," he murmured softly.

"You found me," bsh1 returned.

"I always will."

"You won't have to." bsh1 rolled over to face YYW. "I'll always be with you."

A wide smile somehow made YYW ten times more handsome. It proved infectious; bsh1 could not help but smile back.

"We should probably get up."

"Yeah."

Neither one moved. Neither one dared to shatter the perfection of the moment.

There was a sense, after all, that it was incredibly fragile.

Hai imabench

He had retreated to the Pollust following the battle. He knew the chaos that would erupt throughout the Kingdom. It would be an era of rebuilding and reconstruction and, frankly, that bored him. Order was far less interesting than chaos. Still, Imabench knew he had to wait. There would be plenty of opportunities for spreading chaos later.

rofl...

save it until when humanity ends, imabench.

Shouldn't that be described as "inflexible"?

Doing so allowed him to keep his gaze locked on his target. It was unsettling. It was perfect for a troll.

"You'll let me know the moment there is?"

"Of course, my lord."

"You're dismissed." Imabench turned his attention back to the sky. Another white, puffy cloud lazed its way across his vision. Imabench sighed.

He had waited this long. He could afford to wait a little longer.

Actually, this is incorrect. Here we have a quote from Jonbonbon:
____________________

"We can't afford to wait any longer!"

Ah.

Regardless, she is a bit mentally unstable...

"These things take time," NiamC coaxed. "With the Practitioners withholding most of their medical supplies and technology, we're having to make do with very little." Seeing the effect of his words, he added, "OncomingStorm will make a fully recovery. I'm sure of it. But you need to be patient for this patient to be a full recovered patient."

Fix'd

He could try using spam. ;P

In the safety of their temporary home, YYW and bsh1 lay in bed together.

MAKE OUT NOW

bsh1 lay with his back to his partner, staring at the dark curtains concealing the window. It was midafternoon, and both had significant amounts of work to do, but somehow they'd found themselves guided by other priorities. YYW absently traced patterns on his back with the tip of a gentle finger.

"I'm so glad you're back," he murmured softly.

"You found me," bsh1 returned.

*Spils popcorn and coffee*

"I always will."

*Drops much and popcorn bag*

"You won't have to." bsh1 rolled over to face YYW. "I'll always be with you."

*Starts drooling on floor*

A wide smile somehow made YYW ten times more handsome. It proved infectious; bsh1 could not help but smile back.

*Starts thinking about forcing bsh1 and YYW to reenact this scene and show it on DDO*

"We should probably get up."

There is just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas...
Is...
