Naruto
House of Cards

Those are it. I'm going through one anime and one drama at a time on NetFlix and other sources until I clear them all or rather, as many as possible.

Its weird...I like the show, but I hate basically all the actors in the lead. Ritter isn't bad, but she isn't great and I kinda just don't like her. I think I basically like it just based on the writing? Or maybe for the noir aspects of it.

So I can't really think of anything I like about it, I can think of a lot of stuff I don't like, but overall I still think its a good show. I've only seen the first 5 episodes, and the first episode is really good, so it might just be the quality of the first episode that's been carrying me so far.

You don't like based David Tennant? I haven't seen it, but from what I've heard, his performance is really good.

I didn't care for her in Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23, so I had similar trepidation. Have you seen Daredevil? I've heard good things.

I think the villain is pretty good. He doesn't have a lot of screen time at this point and he's just such an over the top narcissistic jerk there's almost not enough room to shine.

I'm kind of burnt out on super hero stuff and Daredevil doesn't excite me that much (Ben Affleck killed whateer interest I had in that franchise lol) . I wouldn't have watched JJ if people at work weren't talking it up.

In the past, I've enjoyed Afro Samurai, Samurai Champloo, Inuyasha, Bleach, and Detective Conan. Now that I look at them typed out, I guess I mostly like guys with swords...and a kid detective?

Yeah that's fair. We are beyond saturated at this point.

Does that mean no Civil War or Batman v. Superman for you?

Interesting choice.

Well, based on those two factors, I'd probably suggest .hack//SIGN, Sword Art Online (normally I don't recommend that show to anyone because of its wish-fulfillment protagonist and complete inability to write female characters well, but hey, genius prodigy and lots of swords), and Soul Eater. Lots of swords and smart kids around.

If you like more psychological detective work (which may or may not involve kids), I'd recommend Death Note and Psycho Pass. In the former, a genius kid obtains a book with the power to kill people if he follows a certain set of rules, so he uses that to start enacting his idea of Justice on the world. In the latter, society is run by an automated system with reads people's 'Psycho Passes' and determine their Crime coefficients, which, if they rise too high, mark the person as a latent criminal and in need of therapy. If they continue rising, the person is beyond rehabilitation and needs execution.

I can't find ANYTHING to watch on Netflix. This is an open challenge for anyone who can give me a show I'll enjoy that I haven't watched before or actively dislike.

Shows I watch these days:
1. Chicago Fire
2. Law and Order: SVU
3. Shark Tank

Guilty pleasure:
1. Fresh off the boat

I'll watch any genre except comedy. For some reason, what others see as "comedy," I see as people acting silly on television thinking it's funny. But Action/Drama (I especially love workplace drama like police procedurals, courtroom/legal stuff, Homeland Security, US Marshalls, CIA, FBI etc). Not crazy about horror because most of them are B-Movies.

I'm currently re-watching my all time favorite show (Burn Notice) on Netflix but it isn't as fun a second time because I already watched it and know the conclusion. Another all-time favorite would be 24. I also love The Last Ship and actually purchased it online.

So, suggestions anyone? I don't want to feel like $12 dollars spent on Netflix this month is a waste. I cancelled already and I'll probably get Hulu Plus next month but still have a week before my access stops so I want to use the time to watch something good before switching out of Netflix for something else.

There's even less to watch on Hulu than on Netflix.

All seventeen seasons of Law and Order: SVU if you take the subscription + full seasons of Battlestar Galactica which I wanted to watch but didn't get the chance to.

If you switch to Hulu, watch 'Yes, Minister'.

It works with the existing machinery of Capitalism, talks and thinks in the existing terms of Capitalism, appeals to just those appetites which Capitalism has aroused, and ridicules as fantastic and unheard-of just those things in society the memory of which Capitalism has killed among men wherever the blight of it has spread."

It's a comedy so I probably won't find it funny.

It's mostly a smart comedy, and is part political drama as well.
