I agree wholeheartedly.

While bands have come since that I like more, the influence the Beatles had on Rock and Roll is unmistakable. I've listened to all of their albums a multitude of times and I recognise their riffs and guitar runs everywhere.

Greatest band ever.

They deserve massive respect as pioneers in the Rock-N-Roll genre but also in self-expression. They managed to be different and unique while still maintaining a substantial fan base as a mainstream band. I wish I could have been alive to see them play at a concert.

Hmm, the Stones and Zeppelin have very different musical styles. It's a tough call, I love them both, but I slightly prefer the Stones.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to compare them... But Led Zep is one of THE ultimate bands for me. And even though I love the Stones (and always will), Zep is fvcking amazing in so many different ways... The lyrics, the combinations of instrument and vocals, the complexity, the sheer awesomeness... I'm listening to Battle of Evermore right now. :D

The strolling bones? FAIL! Don't even compare to the Beatles. Jagger and Richards versus Lennon and McCartney? GTFO!

As for Led Zeppelin, well I always liked Budgie better.

Your Time is gonna come...I hadn't listened past the first minute before last year, needless to say its the last led zeppelin song I've come to enjoy and shrunk my list of "bad" led zeppelin songs to hot dog and some other song I don't remember

Er, the "Strolling Bones" are better live performers now, well into their sixties, than the Beatles were in their prime. http://listen.grooveshark.com... (2007).

Also, I'm definitely a Lennon guy.

As for Led Zeppelin, well I always liked Budgie better.

You're telling me to GTFO? That's effing sacrilege, mate!

Surprised Budgie was mentioned. They kick @ss. Everyone knows how hard Zeppelin rocked, don't need to go there.

I like the Beatles, but best band ever? Hell no.

You guys really need to listen to the "You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore" series by Frank Zappa.

All live stuff. You'll sh!t bricks.

John Lennon got up on stage, and jammed with Zappa and his band once. Ended up stealing one of his obviously composed songs (King Kong), putting it on an album, and calling it "jam rag" or something. What a wanker.

Before The Beatles released Revolver, Zappa put out his first album, "Freak Out" which had a sh!tty budget, and was full of the kind of music that you wouldn't hear in pop music until later. It was the kind of music that was meant to get on America's nerves, and point out how fake and plastic is was.

Before the Beatles released Sgt. Peppers, Zappa released "Absolutely Free", which made fun of America's phony way of life more, but the music featured was even more intricate, complex, and experimental.

When the 60s were over, Zappa was able to get even more talented musicians into his band, and took full advantage of the fact by writing music that was even more complex and experimental.

Terry Bozzio? George Duke? Steve Vai? Adrian Belew? Jean Luc Ponte? Vinnie Colaiuta? Chad Wackerman? Tom and Bruce Fowler?

If we are going to go by technical skill and execution alone, there is no band in the 21st century that even compared to Zappa's, except for maybe certain orchestras that were willing to play certain modern classical pieces.. Which by the way, Zappa also wrote.

Oh, on top of that, he was a fvcking amazing guitarist. His improvisations were highly original, rhythmically complex, and melodically engaging.

Of course this is highly subjective, but I have a boner for Zappa, I ain't going to lie. His music is so fvcking amazing and tailored to my tastes, that sometimes I get the delusion that he was composing his music at me. Hah

That third video, here is the second part. There is a clarinet solo and a vibe solo, and both of them are amazing.

ok, now that I'm done...
