THE MASTERMIND (3RD PARTY) WINS!

1st Place - Mastermind - royal(2)(Lordknukle)
2nd Place - Mafia
3rd Place - Town
4th Place - Cult & BV

Players Killed Last Night:

Zaradi: You are JOHN "HANNIBAL" SMITH, from THE A-TEAM. While you are self-styled as a "Master of Disguise" your ability is not in the

quality of the disguise, but your ability to assume any role as needed. You are also known for your plans which almost always work, just not always as

advertised. You are the AGENT. Before the game begins you will be provided with a partial list of roles in the game. All the roles given to you will be in

the game, but some roles in the game may not be on that list and a player may be owner of more than one role.

Each night you may select a role from the list and send an anonymous message to the owner of that role.

You are also the UNIVERSAL BACKUP. Each night you may select a role from the list you have been given. If the owner of the role you selected dies, you will

assume that role (but not any other role owned by that player) for the rest of the game. You will retain your messaging abilities, but your Backup ability is

1-shot.

You win with the town.

Zaradi gained the following abilities: You are the ELITE BODYGUARD. Each night you may select a target. If another player would try and kill

your target, you kill the attacker instead. If more than one person would try to kill your target you will randomly pick one of the attackers to kill.

Surviving Players:

royal(2) (LordKnukle) - 3rd Party - WINNER
Blackvoid - 3rd Party
Medic - Town
LDF - Town
OberHerr - Mafia
Xerge - Mafia
Thaddeus (USM) - Mafia
F-16(3) (Oldfirth) - Mafia
PartamRuhem - Town

====- REMAINING ROLE PMS -====

royal(2) (LordKnukle): You are ADOLF HITLER, from REAL LIFE. You are known for your involvement and empowering of the Nazi Party, your

Dictatorship of Germany, your extermination of the Jews known as the Holocaust and, oh yes, WORLD WAR II. You were a charismatic leader, but ultimately were

insane and worked toward your own, racially motivated goals, at the expense of the people you purported to rule over.

You are the MASTERMIND. While part of the Mafia PM, the Mafia cannot win while you are alive. If the mafia would win, you win instead and by yourself, but

only if you also achieve one other goal:

Eliminate the following players (royalpaladin, Hardcore.Pwnography, Andromeda). For arbitrary reasons that make sense to your addled brain alone, those

players are responsible for all the problems in the world and the answer to the Final Question of what to do with them is clear: Kill them. You cannot win so

long as any of those players remain alive.

You were also able to successfully exploit the European policy of appeasement to further your goals. So long as you are not selected to perform the Mafia

Night Kill, you will appear innocent on investigation.

The mafia will be given a clue that you exist, but will not be told your exact role or that it is you they must eliminate in order for them to win.

To help you achieve your goal, you will have the following fake claim:

You are ADOLF HITLER, from REAL LIFE. YOu are known for your involvement and empowering of the Nazi Party, your Dictatorship of Germay, your extermination of

the Jews known as the Holocaust and, oh yes, WORLD WAR II. However, you were able to successfully exploit the European policy of appeasement to further your

goals. So long as you are not selected to perform the Mafia Night Kill, you will appear innocent on investigation. You in with the Mafia.

Blackvoid: You are GOD, from the BIBLE. You are the Alpha and the Omega. The omnipotent, omniscient, creator and sustainer of reality and

all existence. You are eternal and cannot be killed by any other player. You are incomprehensible and will reflexively roleblock anyone that targets you. You

win with the Cult.

At the start of the game you will be told the identity of the Cult Leader (vmpire), and may send anonymous messages to that player each night.

Each night you may select another player. If the Cult Leader targets that player for recruitment, then that recruiment will be guaranteed and cannot be

stopped.

If the Cult Leader dies, you may take his place, however, you lose your God-like abilities: you can be killed and won't roleblock people that target you.

You will appear innocent upon investigation.

Jordan (Torres) role with hidden abilities revealed:
You are LINK, from THE LEGEND OF ZELDA. You are the protagonist in one of the most beloved and classic adventure game series of all time. The series is noted

for the tools and weapons Link collects to help him in his various quest. You have the following tools at your disposal:

Shield* (Protects against all negative effects)
Bomb* (Becomes a Bomb for that night)
Sword (Vigilante)
Recovery Heart (Doc)
Hookshot (Watcher)
Compass (Tracker)
Deku Nut (Roleblocker)
Lense of Truth (Cop)

Each night you must choose an item to use. Each item is one use only. In addition to which item to choose, you must also choose a targe to use them on

(except the starred ones) You do not know what each does, though you may guess based on their names. You win with the town.

medic: You are RONALD REAGAN, from REAL LIFE. You are one of America's most famous Presidents and are generally regarded very highly. As

President, you implemented the Reagan Doctrine to combat Communism by empowering third parties that were antagonistic towards them, with the cost of

"Blowback". You are the GUNSMITH. Each night you may give out a gun. This gun grants that player a 1-shot day vig ability. Their identity will not be

revealed if they choose to use this ability. You win with the town.

LDF: You are NEO, from THE MATRIX. Formerly Thomas Anderson, you were "freed" from the Matrix by Morpheus, who believed you to be The One of

prophecy. At first, you were reluctant to believe this, but came around in time to save the day. As The One, you have unparalleled powers within the Matrix

and, thus, within this Game. However, you do not have immediate access to these powers. Neo had to ""die"" in order to fully come into his abilities. Until

you are killed the first time (except by lynching), you are VANILLA. Instead of dying you will survived and be converted into a COMMUTER, and will not be

able to be targeted at night. You will also have the following abilities:

1. You have the ability to see the underlying code of the Matrix. You are the COP, and can learn someone's affiliation.
2. You can save others from death. You are the DOCTOR, and can protect another individual from being killed at night.
3. You carry the Prime Program. This program is the source code to the Matrix. The purpose of The One is to periodically introduce this program into the

Matrix at key moments in order to restore the balance. You may voluntarily die to revive another player. (One Shot)

You may use only one ability per Night. You win with the Town.

(Note: The activation of your abilities requires you to be targeted by a night kill AND NOT BE PROTECTED. If you are protected, then you wouldn't actually

die, and thus your abilities won't be activated. Use of your abilities will suspend your COMMUTER status, and you will be vulnerable.)

OberHerr: You are MASTER CHIEF, from HALO. You are a genetically modified solider known as a SPARTAN, believed to be the last. You are a

capable warrior, with enhanced speed, strength, and military acumen, combined with reserved nature that often puts others ill-at-ease. You are also noted for

surviving or avoiding disaster of any magnitude. Whenever you would die, for any reason, you have a 1 in 4 chance of negating that death. Activation of this

ability interferes with the operation of your other abilities.

You also have a companion in the AI named Cortana, who provides you with immensely helpful tactical information. Each night you may select another player.

You will learn what action they performed (though not the target) and what information they receive (if any). You win with the Mafia.

Xerge: You are AMATERASU, from OKAMI. You are the Goddess of the Sun in the form of a White Wolf. You have, at your disposal, the Celestial

Brush: a versatile tool that can be used to manipulate the world around you. You are the MAFIA JOAT and have the following one shot abilities: Bus Driver,

Redirector, Randomizer. Once used up, your "inkwell" will gradually regarge. On the second night after you use your last ability, your abilities will all

recharge. You win with the mafia.

Thaddeus (USM): You are GLADOS, the Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System, from PORTAL. You are an artificial life form and the

computer that controls the Enrichment Center, and responsible for the deaths of the entire staff there via neurotoxin. You also guide the player characters

through the Enrichment Center in the Portal Games. You are the KIDNAPPER. You have the ability to disable someone for an entire day phase. They will not be

able to speak or vote. At the end of the day phase they will be released. Whatever ability they were using when captured will be deferred until the next

Night phase.

Since you are not an animate object, you cannot actively carry out your ability; it triggers whenever someone else targets you (if more than one targets you,

I will give you the option of selecting who to kidnap). Furthermore, your inactivity prevents you from ever carrying out the Mafia Night kill.

At the end of the Day Phase in which a player would be released, you may instead kill them. However, if you choose this option, the Mafia may not perform its

Night Kill that night.

HCP's original role: You are BARRACK OBAMA, from REAL LIFE. You are famous for being the first black President of the United States of

America. One of your biggest issues was that of health care reform, disaffectionately known as "Obamacare." Your heart is in the right place, though: you

want to ensure that everyone receives protection. As such, you are the BLACKSMITH. Each night you may give someone a bulletproof vest. You win with the town.

F-16(3)(Oldfirth): You are SAURON, from THE LORD OF THE RINGS. You are a maiar, an angelic being created by Ea and were the Lieutenant of

Morgoth, the source of all evil and chaos in the world. You generally do not interefer in the matters of men directly, but manipulate them and use others to

enact your goals. You are the ROLEBLOCKER. Each night you may send out an army of Orcs to harass someone, preventing them from performing their night action.

Once per game you may perform an all out invasion, which will roleblock every non-mafia player in the game. You win with the Mafia.

PartamRuhem: You are SHERLOCK HOLMES, from the BBC TV Series SHERLOCK. You are one of the world's greatest Detectives (rivalling Batman).

You are known for your astute logical capabilities, affinity for disguises, and application of forensic science to the art of crime solving.

You are the ODD-NIGHT FORENSICS SCIENTIST. Every odd night, you may choose a player, dead or alive, and you will learn everyone that has visited them during

the game (including the night in which you choose them). You will be provided the names in random order. Since decay affects the results on dead players, you

may only choose a player that died in the previous night.

You are the EVEN-NIGHT COP. Every even night, you may select another player and learn their affiliation.

You have 1 DISGUISE. You may use it to look like another player. During the night you use it, you cannot be targeted by any ability. However, any ability

targeting the player you are disguised as has a 50% chance of affecting you. The disguise lasts one night. You may use it with your other ability.

You win with the town.

NP5:

royal(2)(LordKnukle) - Kill Zaradi (Success)
Medic - Irrelevant (Redirected to F-16(3))
Ober - Follow Medic; Medic gives a gun to F-16(3)
Xerge - Redirect medic to F-16(3)
F-16(3) - Roleblock LDF
PR - Irrelevant
Zaradi - Irrelevant (can't protect self); Dies (killed by Royal)

====- GAME ANALYSIS -====

I want to say that Town in this setup was extremely powerful.

Royal and LDF would each survive their first death.
Torres and kyro could each protect themselves (Torres 1-shot, Kyro whenever he become Inner Moka)
Blackhawk could protect against two deaths, guaranteed (assuming a death happened that night).
HCP could give out BP vests.
F-16 was PGO and Logic could make others effectively a PGO (against kill attempts)
The Cult was on a voluntary basis (except when they could coordinate with BV)
The mafia was smaller than normal and included a 3rd party infiltrator.

That said, luck played a BIG factor, a much bigger factor than I had anticipated.
If NP3 were allowed to play out without the mass roleblock, the following things would have happened:
royal(2) would have been recruited as Cult and would have been ejected from the Mafia PM as a result.
Zaradi (town) would have received a Gun
PR would have learned that Oldfirth and Thaddeus were the only ones to visit royal(1)
kyro would have killed vmpire, who would flip Cult Leader

That probably would have been the death nell to both the Cult and the Mafia right there. Their Global RB could not have come at a better time.

Also, player's choices made it appear as though there was more active roleblocking going on than in actuality. There was only one true roleblocker and that was F-16(3)(Oldfirth). Blackvoid, however, passively roleblocked everyone that targeted him, and a lot of people targeted him. Also, I don't want to
any bitching about how he was unkillable
his ability to win was entirely within the hands of vmpire who really didn't play too well and was getting close to being mod killed due to his behavior in the last Day Phase. Case in point, BV was unkillable, and still lost.

Bad luck aside, I believe there were enough clues for Town to piece things together. Consider:

1. Logic recruited Oldfirth, but it failed and he didn't die.
2. PR saw Logic visit Oldfrith.
3. Blackhawk saved someone.

From this I think the suggestion that Oldfirth was mafia but Logic was saved by blackhawk should have been considered as a possibility. Instead, Logic went way out into left field and speculated that his entire role was a lie.

What I find funny is the fact that BV was obviously trolling, yet he was the target of multiple beneficial actions (medic/Logic) and LDF was actively denied the chance to access her abilities (HCP gave her a BP vest).

F-16's maxim of town readily suspecting town, but readily believing mafia in the sense that no one ever suspected Oldfirth, yet PR and Logic would argue with each other about their abilities. In fact, no one ever really pressured Oldfirth for results despite the fact that giving out results once you're outed is almost always demanded.

Town basically didn't function this game. The game began to stall before DP1 was even over. I know Torres mentioned problems with complex roles but, to be honest, only a few people had really complex roles. What I find odd is that this game consistently failed to follow almost any and all SOPs. While it was rightfully determined that character claims really meant nothing (at least not in a reliable sense) people didn't systematically try to get roles from anyone. However, my future games will be smaller and less complex.

====- MVP -====

This is really hard. I think, of all the players, BV, and PR deserve mention for at least starting to discern some of the elements of the game, though neither of their teams won. Royal and F-16 breathed life back into this game after they came back in, and for that I am thankful. I really don't feel confortable assigning any single player as an MVP. The only reason I bring it up was because I planned on allowing the MVP to choose the theme for my next game. Instead, I'll leave it up to vote by the players in this game.

Here are games I have ready (or will be ready by the time I come up again):

Transformers (1980's cartoon; Mostly Classic Roles)
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Song of Ice and Fire (Book series; SPOILERS)
EpicDDO (Roles and mechanics found on EpicMafia; slight modifications to work on DDO)
Heroes (TV show)
Royal Conspiracy (Custom theme a la Death in Mystere)
Farscape
Silmarllion (Will have conceptual mechanics)

You have no idea how frustrating it was trying to get town to place a vote on Royal. Everyone started acting like it was so difficult. They refused to suspect her no matter what. I was really glad when I came back as mafia the third time and figured out that town were doomed to lose simply because they refused to VTL Royal for a claim.

1. NP2: Torres was protected from night actions the night he was recruited.
2. NP3: Global roleblock.
3. NP4: vmpire couldn't find Partam due to his disguise.

You can take me to task for not recruiting Torres given the worrding of your PM, but since he was lynched the next day I'm not sure it would have mattered in the long wrong.

She was so superpowered though. Bulletproof cop and doc.

Also, the mafia really had no chance of catching the infiltrator. At some point, we just said screw it and tried to win. Trying to catch the infiltrator would have been a pain in the @ss and could have led to the entire mafia trying to kill each other.

Not bulletproof, commuter, which would not be in effect if she decided to cop or doc (which she could only do one at a time).

I regret not giving the mafia some ability to catch the infiltrator. I expected her to be caught by other means. Previous setups had the cops being rolecops but I thought that was overpowered. Once I realized that there was literally no way to determine that royal was an infiltrator without random killing, it was too late. I really refrained from making modifications in game.

I didn't play too well this game :(

Dang it. I knew royal was scum.

Had I been more active, I would have agreed with you there.

I actually would have agreed with you normally, but my plan was to recruit Royal to the Cult that night, so I didnt want her to claim since she would become a vanilla. I guess just bad luck on the town's part right there.

I think LDF's inactivity and Logic's early death hurt the town quite a bit too. They were definitely two of the most feared townies. I was a little scared that BV would catch on to the fact that OldFirth never really gave any results, but as cult he had other motives.

Yeah I was pretty confused cause I had a feeling I killed Logic by accident other than the other person and when I saw the role I was like ah crap...

I freaking caught you off the NP2 activity thing in DP4, but Medic came in (dont know what he was thinking) and ended the DP before I could capitalize on it. Then on DP5 I got too distracted with Kyro. Ugh.

Yeah, you were the one I was most wary of. I have no freakin clue why OldFirth claimed watcher when he couldn't give results (he wasn't the mafia watcher, he was the roleblocker) but somehow he manged to stay under the radar.
