A question regarding a game idea

3/26/2012 9:53:12 PM Posted: 6 years ago Awhile back I was planning a LOTR themed game. I think I may do that for my next game, but on the books instead of the movies. I just started the first one, so it could be a few weeks before I start planning the game. Anyway, would anyone be opposed to the idea of running the game as three parts? In other words, everyone signs up for one game. That game would be The Fellowship of the Ring. Based on performance in that game, there would be bonuses awarded to specific players for the next game. For example, maybe I put in Sam's dad. He's a gardener, but plays no role, so he's a vanilla. If they survive, then that player gets a bulletproof vest for the next game or a one shot poli maybe. If they lead a lynch on a mafia, they get a one shot vig or something like that. This extra bonus would be different for everyone. The next game would be the Two Towers and start within a few days of the first game's ending, if not the same day. I guess the simplest part of this is, would anyone be opposed to me running a series of three games, one for each book, when my next turn comes?

3/26/2012 10:13:42 PM Posted: 6 years ago The idea is good but you need to figure out a way to run each game really really fast. Maybe limit the number of players to about 12-14 or include a lot of killing roles. If it goes on for a month, people will lose interest and it would stagnate.

And maybe replacing the most inactive one or two players each game. That would provide incentive to be active. Obviously, if everyone's active enough (will have to set a standard), then no one gets replaced. 3/26/2012 10:48:39 PM Posted: 6 years ago You could try it. If it works, awesome... if it doesn't, oh well.
I had this crazy idea the other night. I was going to run a classic game and then run a game based on the players of that game. |
