Would anyone be interested in starting a game of Diplomacy?

If you are unfamiliar, it is a board game with the goal of conquering Europe. Unlike games like Risk there are no elements of chance. Everything that happens is based on players decisions. It involves a lot of player interaction, you have to form alliances to hope to win.

If you haven't played, the first game can be really confusing. The rules are a little technical but IMO worth it.

I would figure one game would take 2 to 4 weeks to play.

Wikipedia:
http://www.debate.org...

Let me know if you're interested. Up to 7 people can play and it's better the more people you have.

Oh and I own the game so I could potentially keep track of everything and upload a picture of the board each turn or edit a jpeg of the board.

that's the biggest fail of a link to diplomacy I've seen for a while...

Innomen told me about it. I am doing a game like that right now except without a board. It is somewhat realistic at 90/100 and pretty cool as in 90/100.

I have never played before but it looks fun enough.
Rules of Mafia

1. Mestari is never third party.
2. If Mestari claims an intricate and page long TP role, he's telling the truth.
3. Mestari always jointly wins with the town.
3b. If he doesn't he's mafia.
3c. If he was mafia you wouldn't suspect him in the first place.
4. If you lynch Mestari you will lose because he will be the third party Doctor or some other townie power role.
5. DP1 lynches are good.
6. The answer is always no.

We play this game for a grade in History class. Fun but nerve wracking! And since its for a grade people take it very seriously. Fist fights have broken out, friendships/relationships have been ruined, and at least 1 married couple got to know eachother because of diplomacy in history class.

That sounds like something my teacher would do. Except it would be pass or fail.

He would ban alliances and force total war. 6 fail and one pass. Then he would systematically take off points from the winner for all of the mistakes they made.

You didn't link to the game--the link was for diplomacy the practice of conducting negotiations.

He linked to the rules and the website a bit lower. The website is moving to a new server today so it's down for now.

I'm doing a game exactly like this except for the board and it's more realistic. Please be considerate.

The game is on another website. I don't think that DDO regulations should extend to our activities on other sites. That is like telling me that I cannot go on DN with Mestari and BlackVoid.

Apparently metagaming violates the spirit of the game. Pssh, we come from mafia.

Where did you see that? Ive always taken the individual players into consideration. You dont negotiate with North Korea the same way you negotiate with Brazil.

Royal:
I was planning on hosting the game through the DDO boards rather than making people sign up for another website.

Why is it a problem if I start this game? Unclear on how it is inconsiderate...
