Does anyone on here love strategy games as much as I do?

I've been playing Total War for a while now and I'm getting kind of bored of it. Can anyone recommend any other games for me to play?

Games I've enjoyed:

Command and Conquer
Company of Heroes
Battle for Middle-Earth
Age of Empires
Total War: Rome
Total War: Medieval II

I have Civilization 5, but my computer can't run it at the moment. I guess I should have made it clear what my specs are.

Processor: Pentium 4 2.8 GHZ
Ram: 4 GB
Video: NVIDIA Quadro FX 1400

So yeah, I can't run anything super new.

Greyparrot: Shogun 2 is definitely my most wanted game. It looks amazing.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll check them out.

The sid meier civil warseries is rather old but surprisingly unique and rather in depth for a RTS game. It is definitely in my opinion a realistic game with the tactics system used.

Because of its age you would likely have to find it online(may be purchasable online) and your comp will run it with ease.

It takes a lot for me to get into a RTS series. A common problem with RTS is there really isn't any strategy involved in playing them: you amass as many units as you can build, send them from point A to point B, and let them steamroll any bad guys along the way (yes, I'm looking at you Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2).

If you hadn't already played it, I would've reccommended Total War to you, as this is one of the few exceptions that you actually have to think about what you're doing and what impacts a move or choice could have before you make it. It actually takes strategy (hard concept, I know) to be good at it.

If you haven't played it, I would also reccommend Stronghold 2. Pretty easy on the computer, and it has much of the same feel as Total War, but on a smaller scale.

IMHO the best strategy games are:

Crusader Kings II
Men of War
Hearts of Iron III
Wargame: European Escalation

But that's only if we are talking about real strategy games and not mindless RTS.

If you want something low-tech, try Kingdom Rush on Kongregate. Really fun game.

well, okay, you caught me. :)
I wouldn't call WEE a mindless game, but it's defensively an RTS.
