Drip.
Drip.
Drip.

"Mrgh? What the hell? Where am I?"

He sat up and brought a hand to his forehead, wiping it. It was wet. Something was dripping on him, waking him up. He looked up, but the room was pitch black.

A flicker caught his eye. A few seconds later, he heard the rumbling.

"Hello? Is anyone here?"

He stood up and carefully made his way toward the window in which he saw the lightning. The wet rug squished beneath his shoes. His wet shoes then squeaked on the hardwood floor.

He stopped at the window and looked out, trying to see what was outside. The clouds obscured the moon, robbing him even of its eerie light.

Another flash. A reflection in the glass startled him. He turned. Rumble.

"Hello? Who's there?"

The light lingered, barely. He could make out a shape, humanoid. It didn't move. It didn't speak.

Drip.
Drip.
Drip.

He brought his hand to his forehead again. It was wet.

"What is up with this ceiling?"

Flash again. He could see his hand. It wasn't water. It was red. Rumble. The figure moved.

"What the..."

As the figure came closer, the moonlight penetrated the cloud cover, and his eyes adjusted to the dimness. He could see it more clearly. It was thin, sickly thin. He strained to make out more details. It appeared to be just skin and bones. Then he realized.

Flash. There was no skin. Rumble.

In each the sunken depths of the empty eye sockets there was a pinpoint of unearthly light. Terrified, he backed up against the wall. The figure came closer. A few strands of pale hair clung to the top of the skull. The lower jaw was missing. Tattered clothing hung loosely from the shoulders.

Despite half a mouth, no lips, and no tongue, it spoke. Or, rather, a voice appeared in the man's head, which he associated with this ... being. A woman's voice. Pained. Longing.

"We are so glad to have you here... Don't be afraid... We've missed you sooo much..."

A skeletal hand reached out and touched his arm. He screamed and wrenched away. The hand came off at the wrist, but remained stuck to his arm. He clawed at it desperately, but the bony fingers only gripped him harder. Panicking, he thrust past the creature to the nearest door. Flinging it open, he dove inside, slamming it behind him.

He was in darkness again. He felt around. He was in another room. Small. A closet of some sort. He felt around for a light switch. He heard a rapping at the door and sunk as far into the closet as he could, falling to the ground. He was crying.

"This isn't happening. Ghosts aren't real. Someone help me. Oh god helpmehelpmehelpme."

The rapping stopped. The drumming of the rain outside ceased. He reached for his arm, the skeletal hand was gone. His forehead was dry. Slowly, he stood up, trying to calm himself down. As he did, he felt something against his face. A chain. He pulled on it and the light turned on.

In front of him was the dead woman.

"Welcome home!"

He screamed.

----====----====----

Greetings, survivors. You've woken up to find yourself in a house. It could be described as nice. One of those century-old manors you drive past and think about how nice a house it would be, but what would you do with all those rooms?
How did you get here? Who are these others with you? You don't know. Why do you even care? You're in a strange place, so just leave, right?

Wrong.

You can't. You're stuck. The doors leading outside are jammed, the windows locked. No matter how hard you beat on the walls and doors, they don't break. You can break the glass in the windows, but they are too small to fit through and, oddly, the glass seems to repair itself.

Strange things are happening. Voices coming from empty rooms, coldness - despite it being summer, furniture rearranging. Is the house haunted? Who believes in ghosts anymore?

You should.

You want to survive this thing? You can't escape; you're going to have to deal with them. Exorcise the supernatural beings threatening you, and win. Living is optional.

My claim is pretty scummy, so ill claim now. I'm the Jigsaw Killer, from Saw. But somehow, I win with the town.

BlackVoid is not in this game.

Sounds like you kill someone and go temporarily insane.

So you're silenced by simply using your role??

No, only if my role does something specific.

I do not kill, but killing is a part of it.

I have a "compulsive" role... I have to target someone every night. I'm not sure if that qualifies as scummy, but I figured I'd let you guys know.

Do I really need to claim? I'll explain what is my role like and out who I am, but I'd rather not claim. I win with the town, also.

Yes please. I don't think character claims are very useful in this game.

Why role-claim rather than character claim? It makes more sense to character claim first.
