Welcome one and all to the second Trial by Jury game!

If anyone experienced the first one hosted by medic, you should know that it was pretty fun. I have designed a game with the same concept, but with different mechanics such that the game will go smoother.

The main problem with the other game was the length of time it took to do just about everything. While that is similar to real court cases, this is a games forum, so I want to make this fun, and less excruciating.
Here's how it will work.
Like medic's, there will be a prosecution, defence, and a Jury.

The win conditions will be similar as well.

In order for the prosecution to win, they must convict someone (guilty or innocent doesn't matter).
In order for the defence to win, they must protect someone from being convicted (again, guilty or innocent doesn't matter).

In order for the jury to win, they will have to come to either convict a guilty party, or free an innocent party.

They do this after the trial has concluded, and make their decision based on the cases provided.

Now here's where the difference comes in. The pre-trial will be very short.
There will be six different witness. Each witness will provide their witness testimony (which will be mod made), and the prosecution has to determine based on their witness testimonies, who they will try in court.

People will act as these six witnesses, by signing up here and will testify in court in accordance to what their testimonies say, and answer questions, etc.

Basically this will be just like a mock trial debate. There will be no pre-trial questioning: all the questioning will be done in the court room, and will be in accordance to the the witness statement/ testimonies.

Teams will be split up depending on who the prosecution decides to convict. Each team will have 1 attorney, and 3 witnesses.

This game really won't be complicated, but if you have any questions at all, please ask me, and I will clarify.

For now, if you are interested, please sign up.

Only sign up as an attorney if you can commit to being really active over the next week and a half to two weeks.

Also, on another note:

- Can Expert Testimonials be used?
- Will I have the option of holding my cross-examination of witnesses until the full presentation if the defenses case?
- Under what juridstiction will this trial be held, as it will he necessary to acquaint myself with local and state statutes to effectively form a defense.

To clarify that second question, I would wish to wait to cross-examine witnesses until the prosecution has fully finished presenting their case, will this be permissable?

Yes you would wait your respectice turn. The witness would be under oath and if they lied or anything it would look bad for their team.

I am going to try and stay away from too much of the complicated stuff. Just want to make it straight forward, attorneys, witnesses, jury.

- Will I have the option of holding my cross-examination of witnesses until the full presentation if the defenses case?

Prepare your questions prior to the trial, and you ask them to the witnesses during the trial. They will be on an opposing team as you, so will answer the questions in ways that don't help you as much as possible. Same with yours.

American law. You can look up individual state laws too for the state this will be held in.

SWEET.

Once the rest of these spots are filled, I'll send out the witness Testimonies, and the prosecution can choose their suspect.
