This is a simple game just to see what the people of DDO would enact into law if they made up the government.

Here's how it will go.

You can join the game at any time by saying so in bold.

The game will begin when we have ten players.

The players will immediately elect a president from among themselves by majority vote.

The rest of the players will act as members of congress.

Someone proposes legislation and all of congress votes on it.

A 2/3 majority and the signature from the president is required for any piece of legislation to be signed into law.

The president can push his own legislation to the top of the list to be voted on and can act as a tie breaker.

There are currently no laws on the books, besides these rules for making them.

After every five laws passed, a reelection will be held.

I enter the game.
A lot of DDOians are libertarians and anarchists so this'll be fun.
I predict a fully deregulated market by the third president.

Or lose the race to rats
Get caught in ticking traps
And start to dream of somewhere
To relax their restless flight
Somewhere out of a memory of lighted streets on quiet nights..."

This law should not be passes. You need to look out for everyone, not just yourself. Unlike the regular stereotype of politicians, I plan to make a better place. Not look out for me and only me. There is no need for a social contract if the law benefits more people than it harms. For example: We make the law banning drug use because it benefits more people to not use it the nit does to use it. Therefore we keep more people safe by adding in this law. Other laws are created to help the people that do not agree with it. Like how Amsterdam has made it legal fro drug use. Now all people who want to do drugs may go to Amsterdam. Problem solved.

This law should not be passes. You need to look out for everyone, not just yourself.

Why? Why do I have a moral obligation to look out for you? Why?
Unlike the regular stereotype of politicians, I plan to make a better place. Not look out for me and only me. There is no need for a social contract if the law benefits more people than it harms.

(have you looked up this at all?)

For example: We make the law banning drug use because it benefits more people to not use it the nit does to use it.

Sorry sir, I think that marijuana should be legalized.
This is not looking out for me. This is imposing your moral viewpoint on me, which is unfair.

Therefore we keep more people safe by adding in this law. Other laws are created to help the people that do not agree with it. Like how Amsterdam has made it legal fro drug use. Now all people who want to do drugs may go to Amsterdam. Problem solved.

This country is not free if you forcibly deport people.

I exercise my (currently non-existent)right to petition.

I SHALL BE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT.

I shall make five laws, based on the bill of rights.

However, I cannot make these without a 2/3 majority.

I need your help.

Should I not be elected, I urge you to

#1 NOT VOTE FOR TDK. He wants to forcibly deport drug users, and force his will through executive action.
#2 VOTE FOR IMABENCH. He is a member of the DDO elite, and as such has organized campaigns before, and as such should have the experience to make the best president for all of us.

10 things I would be happy to push for as president since there are no laws on the books as of right now:

1) Universal conceal carry laws in all states

2) A "You cant do that" Bill that would illegalize murder, rape, theft, sex slavery, and all other such crimes that everyone here can agree should be illegal

3) A "Freedoms and Rights" Bill which basically would cover basic human rights everyone has, mostly will be based off of the Amendments

4) A Balanced budget bill requiring a balanced budget to be passed unless the GDP declines by 5% in a single year of if Unemployment rises above 10% (We can work out other conditions for this as well)

5) Legalization of Marijuana for recreational use

6) Immediate illegalization of late term abortion but legalization of abortion in any other scenario (we can break this into two separate ones if needed to)

7) Election by popular vote (Since we're starting from scratch we might as well go by popular vote since an electoral college is only needed when dealing with actual states, which isnt a factor here)

8) A "Presidential limitation" bill which will set term limits and impeachment processes

9) Establishment of a DDO Supreme Court where 3 people can serve on it and decide constitutionality of laws. How these 3 are appointed is actually open for suggestion

10) Clean Water and Clean Air act that would keep our stuff nice and clean and not like China's

"The Collectivist experiment is thoroughly suited (in appearance at least) to the Capitalist society which it proposes to replace. It works with the existing machinery of Capitalism, talks and thinks in the existing terms of Capitalism, appeals to just those appetites which Capitalism has aroused, and ridicules as fantastic and unheard-of just those things in society the memory of which Capitalism has killed among men wherever the blight of it has spread."
