Welcome Duelists to the mafia realm of Duelist Kingdom.
It is played like most mafia games, no outside PMs, you must paraphrase roles, no talking upon death, etc.
However, there is one twist.

I am sure you have all noticed you have some stats in your role PM. This is a new lynch mechanic that only applies in the event a majority lynch is not reached or a majority vote of "no lynch" is not reached. In this event, your stats come into play. For every vote on a player, the attack of the voter is tallied. This applies to all votes on all players. The defense stats are totaled for all players who have no current votes or who are voting "no lynch", with an additional 300 point bonus per vote. If the total of the attack of voters for a player is greater than the defense vote of non-lynching players, the player voted is lynched. This may result in multiple lynches in one DP.

For example:
Player A has ATK 1500 DEF 1000, Player B has ATK 1000 DEF 700, Player C has ATK 500 DEF 500.

Player A votes Player B, no other votes.
Result: Player B is lynched because 1500 > 1200 (700 + 500)

Player A votes Player B, Player B votes no lynch.
Result: no lynch because 1500 is not > 1500 (700 + 300 (NL bonus) + 500)

Player A votes Player B, Player B votes Player C, and Player C votes no lynch.
Result: Player B is lynched (1500 > 800)
Result: Player C is lynched (1000 > 800)

Remember, this rule only applies in the event a majority vote is not reached.
As long as you are in Duelist Kingdom, this rule is in effect.

It"s time to d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-duel!!
My work here is, finally, done.

That's an interesting mechanic. Don't know what's changed since I last played, but I win with the Pharoah.

I can vouch for this, as my win condition is also to win with the pharaoh.

Where does the additional 500 come from in Player B's 1200? I get that 700 is the defence, but what about the 500?

Player A votes Player B, Player B votes no lynch.
Result: no lynch because 1500 is not > 1500 (700 + 300 (NL bonus) + 500)

I think I get this one.

Player A votes Player B, Player B votes Player C, and Player C votes no lynch.
Result: Player B is lynched (1500 > 800)
Result: Player C is lynched (1000 > 800)

I don't get where the 800 comes from for Player B's lynching.

Player C (500 DEF + NL bonus).

The fact that you are being voted against is irrelevant. What saves one from a lynch is the defense of those not "attacking" others. So, if you are voting for someone, your DEF stats don't factor in to save yourself from a lynch.

Whuh?

Player A votes Player B, no other votes.

Player A votes Player B, Player B votes no lynch.

Player A votes Player B, Player B votes Player C, and Player C votes no lynch.

Result: Player C is lynched (1000 > 800)

So it's like, if player A votes player B, then it's like if the (ATK) of PA > (DEF + 500 + 300 bonus) for no vote of PB, then the second player dies? That's really complicated and seems unbalanced.

So it's (ATK) of attacking player > (DEF) of all other players + (300) NL bonus - (DEF) of target if he VTL?

Do the attacks stack?

Why don't we just VTL everyday to avoid this confusing system...

Def of all players not voting. NL bonus only applies to those who VTNL.
This gives power to those who are opposed to a lynch, and gives the possibility of a lynch to those who prefer plurality lynching.

Do the attacks stack?
Yes, for all players on any wagon, only applied to their wagon.

Why don't we just VTL everyday to avoid this confusing system...

This is an alternative to plurality lynching.
If there is a "normal" lynch, or no lynch, this confusing system does not activate.

I was saying this because Drafterman asked whether I volunteer to be lynched, and then I got asked again by Buddamoose, which I'm assuming no one but the Jester would do unless it's in end game and it's beneficial for a Vanilla to be lynched be cause scum has lynch proof or something.

Is this character claim thing you people trying to stump a newb or is it normal for closed games like this on DDO for people to claim on the first day?

Anyhow I'd just like to express my gratuitous sentiment on the first Mafia game that I'm able to play. I tried 3 times -- First time a Scum claimed his whole team, second time I got rejected from the sign up, and third time the game was delayed for 2 weeks which conflicted with my schedule. So even if I die NP (or even DP1) at least I would die legitimately..

I'm going to be offline soon so tell me what I need to do to not get lynched in the next 3 to 4 hours.
