Lynched in DP1

Agent Smith -- TA

"But, as you well know, appearances can be deceiving, which brings me back to the reason why we're here. We're not here because we're free. We're here because we're not free. There is no escaping reason; no denying purpose. Because as we both know, without purpose, we would not exist."
"It is purpose that created us".
"Purpose that connects us."
"Purpose that pulls us."
"That guides us."
"That drives us".
"It is purpose that defines us."
"Purpose that binds us."
"We are here because of you, Mr Anderson. We're here to take from you what you tried to take from us."
"Purpose."

You are Agent Smith, originally an Agent of the Matrix, who after being destroyed by Neo then became an Exile program and manifested as a computer virus, allowing him the ability to create multiple copies of himself. You are willing to take over the entire core network in your bid to kill the one who killed you. You are the Cult Leader. Each night you may convert another player into a Cultist. You and all cultists share a PM and win when you and the living cultists are in the majority. The responsibility for choosing who gets converted into the cult will always be your decision. If you as the Cult Leader die, all your cultists will die with you. Death will also happen if you attempt to convert anyone resistant to Cults.

Died in NP1

There were no deaths in this period.

Player List

1. Khaos Mage
2. srehtiw
3. TUF
4. Sparkies
5. Yraelz (replacing Tylergraham)
6. Bladerunner060
7. Hatstand
8. thedebatekid
9. TN05 (replacing UnopinionatedMoron)

With 9 players, it takes 5 votes to lynch. This DP will last no later than 9am DD0 Time on Monday the 10th of November.

ok now I will full claim as I have picked a person to reveal if I die. I am the oricle and When I die (this cost) I will reveal the person's pm and full role publicly, who I have chosen the night before. I will not reveal my target last night until I believe it is necessary.

A little tired this morning, I'll try to have some reads out later though. Hopefully before noon.

To be clear, you are an actual human, not a portrayal of one in the matrix (i.e. you can actually go to Zion). For example, Smith and the Oracle are NOT humans.

Correct. I am Trinity (which I previously claimed), and I have a protective role that I used last night.

I protected Sparkies last night because of his claim (Oracle). I am not a JOAT, I have one protective role I can use every night.

When did Sparkies claim Oracle?

Last DP. When Sparkies claimed a program that could look into the future and determine if someone is town or not, I asked him if he was Oracle and he confirmed it. This was about the same time I asked if you were Architect.

Either way, that was bad play.

Why protect someone whose utility is to die?

He said I was correct when I asked if he was Oracle. I remember this explicitly. That aside, he claimed cop and no one CCed, so I wanted to protect him at least one night.

His utility is to be cop.
I don't want to reveal the exact details of my protective role, but it isn't very strong.

This makes no sense.
You knew he wasn't cop, and you knew he was Oracle.
The Oracle needs to die to be useful, otherwise he is nothing more than a vanilla. Which is fine, but I haven't seen enough from Sparkies to warrant protection as vanilla (unlike, say Drafter).
So, you've possibly hindered town learning a mod-confirmed role to protect someone who hasn't really seemed to contribute much to scum hunting. Further, you put other roles at risk by not protecting them. (for example, mine. If I die, my role's utility is lost)

Do you see why this was bad play?

Why protect someone whose utility is to die?
Can I have justification for your role?

His utility is to be cop.
When he's dead. Thus, protecting him doesn't help anyone.
I don't want to reveal the exact details of my protective role, but it isn't very strong.

I don't even know what that means.
And, I didn't ask for your role, I asked for your justification.
Why does Trinity have a protection role? Frankly, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

It absolutely makes sense. If he has to die to reveal the role, it would only make sense he has to survive the first night to pick a player to reveal. By protecting him, I ensured he was able to survive the first night.

If I reveal my role PM's justification for my role, than I essentially reveal my role. I'm not going to be doing that right now.

Ahhh, I see now. You are wrong, but I see what you thought.
Tell me, if a doctor (or whatever your role is) is targeted for death by a vig, does he still protect his target from the NK?

Yes, because killing is the last thing that happens in the night.
Thus, the oracle should have had their choice chosen BEFORE they died. Thus, dying NP1, he would still have prophesied. It was a waste to protect him.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond, I was at school when you asked for my read. So far I think that lynching Smith on our first turn was one of the smartest things we could have done, as every turn smith would have become a bigger problem until he was impossible to stop. if I am not missing anything it would appear that Sparkies has claimed the role cop and TN05 has claimed role doctor. From this stage I think the most logical things to do are to listen to Sparkies results of who they investigated during the night phase, react accordingly and then attempt to gather as much information on the roles and characters as possible as that is the area were the mafia are most likely to slip up.

Fine - I'm bodyguard. I protect someone at night and if they have targeted a lethal action at them, I will die. The justification in the PM for this is that Trinity would give her life for Zion and Neo.

Wrong.
Sparkies claimed ORACLE. This means that when he dies, the player's role he has chosen (I believe it can change every night) will be revealed to everyone. It is like a rolecop, except it is mod confirmed and public.

As such, he has no results to offer, and when he does, we will all know it.

TN05 claimed some sort of protective role, like doctor, but not necessarily doctor.
