RULES!

Signup:
Each player will sign up as one of the three classes: Commander, Subordinate, or Barbarian.

Commanders will control the largest armies and are the most powerful class.

There will be 3 subordinates per commander. Subordinates will have to work as a team alongside their commander. Subordinates must always do as their commander orders if they are given a direct command (rather than a general command: i.e. "Attack Kamchatka with your Alaskan forces" as opposed to "Conquer Australia", or choose to form a rebellion. When a subordinate rebel, they gain sovereign control over the units they had direct command over and the territories they were in, but still retain the weaknesses of a subordinate. If the territories they are in are contested by other subordinates or commanders, then they immediately fight, with the rebels as the attackers.

Barbarians are similar to commanders, but suffer from two major weaknesses: A much smaller unit cap and no subordinates.

The goal for commanders is to lead their army and their subordinates' armies to world conquest.
The goal for Subordinates is to follow a commander to victory, or to rebel against their commander, and conquer the world by allying with other rebels/commanders, or by their own conquest.
The goal for barbarians is to totally eliminate any player from the game.

Further Class details.

Commanders
-Assigned one commander trait at random
-Unit cap is 3x their territory production value
-Has control over territory captured by their subordinates
-May make 2 attack moves per turn
-May make 4 re-positions per turn
-Can Research advanced tech.

Subordinate
-Assigned one subordinate trait at random
-Can become a rebel
-Units are only awarded to them by their commander*
-Unit cap is 2x their territory production value.
-May make only 1 attack move per turn
-May make only 2 re-positions per turn
-May pass freely through their commanders territory*
-All territory conquered is given to their commander*
-If they rebel, they retain all of their commanders tech.
-May research further tech AFTER rebelling
*lost after becoming rebel

Barbarian
-Assigned one barbarian trait at random
-Unit cap is 1x their territory production
-May make unlimited attack moves
-Cannot re-position units
-Continent control provides only 1/2 benefit (rounded up)
-Cannot research advanced technology

Unit Production
-At the end of every turn, players deploy their troops where they please. Players are awarded units equal to the production value of their controlled territories. Commanders may instead of deploying the troops, award them to their subordinates.
-Unit production value can also be spent to gain technological advantages.

Attack/Defense
-Each attacking unit represents one d12 die roll.
-Loss calculation: The standard deviation and expected value will be calculated by your die rolls. The difference between the "z-scores" will be calculated. A difference of 1=1/6 of units lost in battle for the winner, and 1/3 loss for the loser. A difference of 2=1/12 loss for winner, 2/3 loss for loser. A difference of 3=no loss for winner, total loss for loser. (z scores will be rounded)
-Overrun: For every 3 units that that a person outnumbers their opponent, they automatically gain .75 added to their calculated z score. This means that outnumbering by 3 gives you 1, automatically. outnumbering by 6 gives you 2 automatically. Outnumbering by 9 gives you 2 automatically, maybe 3.
-A tie in z-scores automatically results in 1/4 loss for defenders and 1/3 loss for attackers.

Diplomacy
-At any time, players may send PM's to other players regarding the formation/breaking of alliances, or the gifting of units in trade for these treaties. Rules do not hold you to honoring an alliance, but if you attack an ally without giving them at least 3 turns notice before breaking the alliance, it will be made public among the players of the game, and it may trigger some players special abilities. Make sure you include me in ALL pms that you make.

Technology
-There are six technologies that can be researched
1. Naval Superiority: When defending against attacks made over water lines, you gain +1 to your z-score.
2. Espionage Tactics: You may attempt to sabotage an army that you are attacking. If you are successful (Determined by a d20 die roll >14 is success) you automatically gain +1 to your z-score.
3. Superior Weapons- Gain .3 to all attacking z-scores
4. Superior Defense- Gain .3 to all defense z-scores.
5. Advanced Industry- Deploy your units at the beginning of your turn instead of the end.
6. Tactical Nuke- Only one player may research this tech. Once per game, a player may destroy one piece of territory, killing all units within and reducing it's production value to zero.
-To research, PM me which tech you are aiming to get. You may pay 2 units of production per die. I will roll a d6 per die that you buy. If one d6 rolls the number of the tech you want, you get it.

Founding Your Army
-Commanders begin the game with 20 units
-Subordinates begin the game with as many as their commanders award (commanders don't have to award any right away, but rather may wait until the first turn of production.
-Barbarians begin the game with 15 units.
-Commanders may choose any one territory to be their capital. They deploy all of their units into this territory, and the territory's production value becomes 5.
-To capture unoccupied territory, players must sacrifice units equal to the territories production value. This rule does not apply to barbarians.

Ending the Game
-There are 3 endgames
1. Complete victory
2. Partial victory
3. Defeat
-Commanders attain complete victory by conquering the world. Commanders cannot attain partial victory. Commanders are defeated if they are wiped out, or are forced to surrender.
-Subordinates attain complete victory by conquering the world alongside their original commander. They can also obtain complete victory by conquering the worlds by themselves, or in an alliance comprised only of fellow rebels or barbarians. They obtain partial victory by conquering the world in alliance with a commander in their alliance. They are defeated when they are eliminated or forced to surrender.
-Barbarians attain complete victory by defeating any player. The game does not end when a barbarian attains complete victory. Barbarians attain partial victory if they conquer the world alongside fellow barbarians or rebels. Barbarians are defeated if they are eliminated or forced to surrender BEFORE they defeat a player.

No, this is alternate history. Pretend that by some series of events, many of these countries formed and made it to the nuclear age.
