I used to play it before converting to chess, actually.

You're talking about the one with a bunch of numerous circular pieces on a board, right?

correct. I used to play a bit (never got too much into it). I tried online tutorials, but could never find any that were good. There is a website I used to play on called goshrine, but the players were above my level.

Go, is an insanely hard-to-master, very long-lasting, strategic board game.
In one sentence, Go can be explained by "The goal of 'Go' is to have the most pieces by surrounding other pieces, getting rid of their 'air'". The "air" junk is hard to explain across the keyboard, you'll need Wikipedia to explain it for you (basically, "air" is the four spaces to the left, right, up, and down of a piece. However, joining another piece RIGHT NEXT to the original adds the "air" of the second piece, and so on, so forth). Go is very, very difficult to grasp. There's no certain winning strategy. (Although the best first move is definitely the middle space of the board, lol)

No it's not, at least I don't think so. I've always started at one of the 4 highlighted corner vertices. It pretty much secures that space for the player who first plays on that part of the board.
