I have my opinion, of course, but am interested in knowing what draws people to those specific "baddies" in video games.

After sounding off, I have a debate on the matter, if you want a good bit of well thought out fluff.

Aliens hands down. For 3 reasons. Aliens offer unlimited diversity, an intelligent opponent, and an enemy worth killing because it could be considered an equal or better. At most zombies offer diversity with games like left 4 dead, but at a point you have to ask if what you're killing technically counts as a zombie (the definition of such can be a little fuzzy).

If you would like to debate it as well, I am open to continuing. :)

Alien and zombie should both probably be a bit more defined, if we do, though.

maybe but no gurantee.

Alien zombies might get complicated.

Well, in a game like Mass Effect, who is the Alien? The guys that are helping you, or the guys you are fighting... or you?

My guess for a cohesive definition alien would have to be a non-earth, sentient being. Zombies would have to be taken from our modern understanding, undead humans brought about by virus, parasite, voodoo etc or no known reason. Mass Effect is an alien game no question, not a zombie game (despite killing some things that may be considered a zombie).

What is this talking about, Zombies versus Plants? I guess that there are the body snatchers, which reminds me of corn, which reminds me of children of the corn, which goes back to plants. I wonder if you can have a mortgage on your plants with zombies versus plants.

Definitely zombies. It takes some sort of ridiculous act for humans to beat a superior opponent, such as aliEns with superior technology. Humans have to spread a biological disease, as if somebody that travelled light years, isn't smart enough to take that into account.

Haven't played it myself, which is more prevalent, recycling baddies into something else, or basing the game off it?
