Disc's recent thread about non-mafia games got me thinking about the old RPG games that I used to host.

I have an idea for a game in which, much like Game of Thrones, different factions vie for power in ancient or medieval historical setting. Each faction would have a different set of resources, and would each start out with a single city. A faction wins by conquering all cities.

In addition to the factional win, there would also be a regional win. If you emerge as the most powerful non-King/Queen single person (regardless of faction) in the game by games' end, you get an individual win. The winning king/Queen also gets an individual win.

The problem with these games is, I've found, that people are even less active than they are in mafia. If enough people (10-12) are interested, this is something I can put together. But you would really need to be active and committed. If you're interested, let me know.

This sounds like a FATE/Risk hybrid, both of which I have neither the patience nor will to play.

Vaarka swung his sword at the mod. However, since I am now incorporeal, he ends up accidentally striking the entire American landmass (It's a REALLY bastard sword), destroying both continents. Spiders are now at 50% of capacity."

But, other than that, it is an idea I would get behind. I hope it works out for ya.

Games like this usually start of great but slowly die down. A lot of Fate games fail to keep their players interested till end game.

The last successful Fate game that everyone participated in until the end was FREEDO's. He made it short, simple, interesting and new every time we head to the next era/age.

A interactive non-mafia game! Count Me In!

Though seriously, this would be an excellent Segway for me back into the games section.

Hopefully It doesn't end like FREEDO's did. I couldn't figure out how to make metal, and my progress kind of stalled. I think I've got some more ideas now though.

I've never played such a game before, but it seems people are saying hasn't always gone well in the past. Hopefully this be different if it does get enough signed up to start up.

I had an idea where each player would be given 5 family members to control in an RPG style, the last family standing wins. Players could engage in political marriages and betrayals.
