Do you wanna know what the secret to longevity is.
Here is a diet that you cannot live without.

Bluberries
Oat Meal
Walnuts
Pecans
Almonds
Oat Bran
Honey
Sweet Potato
Fish
Apples and Oranges

Now if you eat at least one of these per day, or together, then you will be just fine.
You will have all of the nutrients you need to survive and combat cancer.
What do you think ?

get rid of the grains and honey, and add a few more green veggies and i think you have a good start, probably want to eat more than one serving of them a day though.

and ive read a few different things that lead to increased longevity in labrats- very low calorie diets, sleep deprivation, and i don't remember the other stuff but it was as unpleasant as the above two unfortunately.
if state farm has perfected teleportation technology why do they still sell car insurance?

What do you think ?:

Eating such things, in general, gives you a better chance but there are no guarantees in life. My friend, a total health nut, just died from cancer a week ago today. Lance Armstrong, a specimen of health, got cancer. Yet, Ed Burns smoked all his life and died at or near 100 years old.

In short, there is no fountain of youth... there never has been, there never will be. You will all die one day, and it's best to make peace with that fact.

Please note that I'm not discouraging anyone from eating healthy, just pointing out that nothing stops death and sometimes you'll get cancer just because.

Cancer is not always about your eating habits. You can get it from chemicals, toxins, water, dirt, sex, blood ransfusions, and more. I just thought I would elaborate on that.

You wont last long on that crap, where is the red meat?
I am voting for Innomen because of his intelligence, common sense, humility and the fact that Juggle appears to listen to him. Any other Presidential style would have a large sub-section of the site up in arms. If I was President I would destroy the site though elitism, others would let it run riot. Innomen represents a middle way that works, neither draconian nor anarchic and that is the only way things can work. Plus he does it all without ego trips.

As it pertains to diet and nutrition, diversity is the concept you want to aim for to achieve and maintain optimal health. The foods you have provided offer varying micro and macronutrients that the body requires, which is great.

A few more foods to consider are the following:
Broccoli
Spinach
Coconut
Garlic
Eggs (duck eggs are great)
Asparagus
Shrimp
Carrots

Addendum:
If possible, select vegetarian fed and free range chickens. The shrimp is most nutrient dense when caught from the wild, rather than farm raised.

Pretty good list. As an athlete and marathoner, I too have my own list of what I like to call "Super Foods."

To your list, though..I would add a couple of caveats...

"Honey"...I too love it...and often drizzle some of it on whole wheat toast or a whole grain Eggo waffle in the morning for a quick breakfast. I also use it instead of sugar all the time. In tea and coffee. But remember that it is packed with sugar. And even though it is a natural form it can still pack on lbs. and raise blood/sugar levels. Moderation is the key here!

"Fish".........I used to love it but have lost my appetite for it over the past couple years. Beware of iodine and mercury...and...anything from the Pacific. I just read the radiation fallout from Fukishima has now officially reached U.S. shores.

My list of other superfoods.......

Dark chocolate--(again, with moderation. No ore than 2 ozs. a day.) It has anti-oxidants and has been shown to actually lower LDL.

Virgin Olive Oil........drizzle it on your pasta instead of red sauce or cheese or white sauce, which is packed with fat. I love spaghetti with olive oil, parmesean cheese and garlic powder. Sometimes with a squirt of Sriracha Sauce.

Sriracha Sauce!.....Fires-up your metabolism. Low sugar. Better than most condiments.

Blueberries

Acai Berries

Kiwis

Almonds

And drink lots of water...stay hydrated. Get aerobic exercise at least 3-4 times a week, for 45 mins a shot. Get your THR (target heartrate up to the 70% of max level during these workouts.)
