Anyone know why newborns lose weight? Well what if a new born loses more than 2 pounds after birth?

In general when it comes to these things, it's better to ask a medical professional, rather than people online.
I think that the reason that they lose weight is due to a loss of some unnecessary fluids, & is generally nothing to worry about. If; the weight loss continues for more than a few days after birth, exceeds 10%, or the infant is not back to (or above) it's birth weight within a couple weeks, seek medical attention immediately.

How much did it weigh when it was born? Was it full-term or a preemie? How long are we talking that it "lost weight"? How old is it now? Is it still losing weight, or holding steady, or regaining?

I guess that can be because the baby is premature born or was born weak but i guess that is nothing to be worried about.
Take care of baby and give him/her mother feed that will help a lot in growth.
