I'm not really fat, but I have gotten kind of squishy since I left active duty. I'm thinking about doing one of those "fitness Journals" which tracks progress using before, during and after pictures, workout routines, diet tips, etc....Anyone who wants to join should post here. Progress should be posted weekly. I realize I'll probably be the only one doing it, but it would be cool to have "health conscious" DDO group.

I'm 195 lbs right now. Gonna push for 175, lean muscle, rather than bulk.

I'll join you. Although I don't have too much weight to lose. I'm sitting at about 160lbs (72kg), so I'm not skinny but I'm not large either, and I've also been weight lifting so have somewhat considerable muscle mass especially in my lower body. I do however want to lose another 20lbs or so to get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight. Most of it is sitting on my mid-section right now, which is frustrating.

How are you going about losing weight OP?

Want to do a weekly weigh in?

I'm gonna do a protein diet of 8 oz of lean chicken, 5 times a day with some bland veggies.
My workout is going to be pull-ups to build shoulders and core, dips for triceps and chest, free-weights for biceps and 1.5 mile timed run.

We should definitely do weekly weigh-ins.

Diet is going to be a huge thing for you. Others too, but gaining muscle is even more about what you eat and don't eat than it is about how you lift/exercise.

You could start gaining weight right now if you wanted to. Just eat lots of protein. Eggs, chicken, fish, spinach, etc etc. If you wanted to be bulky you'd need to add a whole host of carbs, too (like potatoes and such) to give your muscles more water weight but I wouldn't recommend that.

BMI is not really anything to go by if you want to be muscular. Most weight lifters would be obese according to their BMIs.

I need it horribly bad. I am 5'10, 15 years old, and only way 98 lbs. I'm a toothpick with cognitive thought.

I'm 5'10, 110 lbs. I do 3 pull-ups evry day. I sit and play videogames and eat junk food for all three meals.
After, I'm 5'10 and 110 lbs. So I decide to binge eat more pizza, burgers, chips, fatness, fatty, fats, and fat.
After that, I'm 5'10 and 110 lbs. So I dont workout and I eat as much sh*t as I could eat.
Later after that, I'm 5'10 and 110 lbs and have a six pack with alright muscles because I'm FABULOUS!

Well I weighed myself this morning and I'm now 157lbs, so does this mean I am winning? I have hardly eaten the past 3 days but my loss still counts. Also the only food I need is eggs, chicken, fish and spinach. Hardly spend that much on groceries and I am also rarely hungry. Life is good.
