I only eat fast food once every two weeks. I exercise a lot so I need to maintain fat.

Olive oil and avocados make good sources of fat.

How dramatic. What ever happened to eating the entire animal? Some things to put this in perspective.

- Ecoli is a problem because we feed cows corn rather than natural grass.

- Those bits of meat are the same thing as the steak. They are muscle cells. There is nothing inherently worse about those bits other than they have a higher propensity to get contaminated with ecoli or other bacteria. Any ground beef has the same problem or even steak that has been mechanically tenderized by what is virtually poking needles in it.

- Cheese has more ammonia content than pink slime.

To put it in perspective, I would rather eat pink slime than high fructose corn syrup or over processed carbs that spike blood sugars and cause havoc with the body.

By the way, when we used to use the entire animal, that beef fat would be rendered into tallow for cooking. The left over meat bits were called "cracklins" and were considered a treat to eat.

Oliver is just continuing the disconnect that people have with where their food comes from.

So are many other healthy alternatives. Just because you exercise doesn't mean you should be eating fast food.
One day I saw a man walking down the street, and he walked up to me and said, "Did you know that humans are the only species who tear down trees to make paper, and then write 'save the trees!' on them." I was amazed, then everyone else looked at him and glared with annoyance. I was the only one that actually cared, about the trees, about the man, about the world.

I don't think it's fair to use "fast-food" and "meat" in the same sentence.
