I get a high pitched continuous tone in either of my ears every now and again (I don't ever remember having it in both at once). It usually only lasts for a couple of seconds and then it's gone until next time. It's freaky sh1t.

It may be the beginnings, but If I'm not mistaken tennitis (sp?) Doesn't come and go.

I'm so sorry, but you are dying... Here is how it plays out.

0-2 weeks: Loss of sleep, high pitched continuous tone in either ear.

3-5 weeks: DEATH!!!

i take a lot of drugs?

What drugs? include alcohol and cigarettes. How often? When did you notice this ringing? What have you done that makes it come or go? Who do you live with, do they smoke? Have you recently had an infection of any kind? What about head trauma?

These are standard questions to ask before they let us do any diagnosing :P I'm just cutting out all the possibilities that I have in mind.

Yes to EVERYTHING else?? Jeez.

How often does it come? Once a day? Only when it's quiet? And what type of infection did you have? How long ago? What about the knock to the head? How bad was it, and how long ago?

Take note of your posture when it happens. Whether you are standing up, laying on your side, etc.

Also, do you use Q-tips frequently?
