If it hasn't been eating or it has been throwing up then it may have low blood sugar which is a common cause of shivering in dogs. If that's the case than a simple tablespoon of honey will fix that, continued until normal nutrition habits are resumed.

If that's not the case and the shivering continues for another day I would seriously consider going to a vet.

How old is your dog? If your dog is under a year old or so, and starts throwing up go to the vet immediatly, cuz your dog may have a Stomach/Intestine infection (caused by eating stuff it shouldn't which happens often with labs). It's one of the most unexpected things to happen, because most vets say that dogs don't need the vacine.
