I think this can not be passed by gene, you have to be detected in the hospital to be sure of this. And additional suggestion for you: the obesity(http://www.creative-proteomics.com...) will lead to the diabetes.

The best and most appropriate option which is to get rid of from diabetics is to get a proper treatment with the concerned diabetic"s specialist. And I strongly recommend you to consult one of the best diabetics hospitals in Kerala which provides the proper treatment in all aspects. So try to recognize your disease at the initial stage itself.

OK..I need some more info from you before I can help.

First: what type of Diabetes do your parents have? Type I (the genetic type you're born with) or Type II, which is acquired later in life? See, Type II USED to be called Adult Onset Diabetes, but over the past three decades so many kids have acquired it with their crazy-high sugar consumption and lack of exercise that they can't call it that anymore! It's now called Type II.

If your parents have Type II you most likely have nothing to worry about. Oh, they could still have a genetic marker that made them perhaps more succeptable to getting Type II, but this is unsure now. And besides even if they do the chance of that marker getting passed to you is far lower than it is for them passing a Type I (born with) genetic marker to you.

DO you know that only about 10% of all folks who have diabetes have Type 1???

either way, watch your diet and get your blod sugar level checked, it shouldnt be much over 100 when taken in blood work after fasting for at least 8 hours. A good diet and low sugar is good advice anyway. Yo shouldnt be intaking more than 100 grams a day. (a 12 oz. coke has about 65!) And at all costs try to avoid HFCS totally. Its way worse than sugar, as they body cannnot break it down and utilize it nearly as well as it can sugar or regular fructose. (sugar form fruit.) Anything that ends with "ose" is sugar!! Like lactose in milk? Most folks dont know how much sugar milk has!! HALF of what Coke does! It aint that good for ya, bro. One of the great myths of the American diet thru History. Got milk? LOL. No! And I dont want it! LOL. (except in my cereal and even then I use Soy or Almond milk. And I use honey instead of sugar. No sugar is even IN my house!

Hipe this helps, let me know if you have any more Q's...
