I saw online, yesterday, a device used in studies and in clinical treatment to control the rate at which people eat. A clinic in England uses it to treat people with anorexia and bulimia. At first, I thought the device told the patients to slow their eating rate down; but, then, I realized it's not to slow their eating but to make it faster.
People with anorexia and bulimia have known for years the slower you eat the less food you need to make you feel full. The problem with anorexics and bulimics is they take it to the extreme. The rate at which people eat has been linked to eating disorders, whether eating too slowly as in anorexia and bulimia or eating too fast as in overweight and obesity.
